Hope that the boy had much fun during his 1-week break. Pretty sure he enjoyed his beach day, Disney on Ice and Batam trip. He’s been really patient with my shopping and our jalan-jalan itinerary. So here’s the ever changing itinerary for Batam. Our first family trip a country outside Malaysia. An hour ferry ride away. Glad that we booked the Business Class return trip for the pleasant experience.

The main purpose of the trip was to celebrate the Dad’s birthday in advance.
Requested for a complimentary cake from the hotel and was impressed with the presentation. The breakfast buffet spread was good too.
Probably the only low was that our apartment wasn’t ready although we checked in late at around 5pm. Imagine if we were to check in at the official 2 or 3pm time. Thankfully the other room was available so we could freshen up before heading to our 1st stop.
The furthest by far probably about 45min from our hotel. Barelang Bridge for sunset but it was covered by the clouds. Shocked to see the local people chilling by the edge of the bridge with strong wind blowing. If SG sure kena fine for risking their own lives sitting there.
When the bags were ready and multiplied for the journey home.
Our luggage got heavier and the handcarry bags consisted of mainly keropok2.
Didn’t include those other handcarry bags filled with the Zapin cakes and Kek Lapis.
Our view from the Business Class seat on the upper deck of the ferry.
It’s less chaotic and other pax were really Business people.
Ermmm all mine except the front Bateeq x Transformers top for the boy.
The husband bought only a book. 🤭
That salted egg noodle only costed $0.40.
Need to finish these up before the fasting month arrives.
ALHAMDULILLAH for the rather smooth trip which began right at the Immigration and till we reached home. Hopefully the driver cum guide wasn’t annoyed with our ever changing plans. These are the main highlights of Batam trip.
- The local people are friendly especially the sales people. They could be sitting down next to the wagons to sort and arrange the clothes at Matahari but there’ll be other staff ready to serve you.
- We didn’t have to wait long for our food at the restaurants.
- There’s a busy T junction near our hotel which didn’t have a traffic light. Amazingly the drivers and motorcyclists gave way to one another without much fuss.
- The food’s quite cheap when everytime we spent less than $100 for a huge feast.
