Trying to do an entry using the husband's lappie.
Hope I still got the typing skills hah after what 5 years of unemployment. haha.
Anyways this post will be all about our staycay at Swissotel the Stamford.
As you might know, we have been staying on same hotels for our little getaways.
But this time, we decided to try Swissotel which happened to be cousin's fave.
I am aware of the cases of guests falling off due to the height of hotel. Then I read that a fall was from 53rd floor while two were from the 60th. So it has never really crossed my mind to actually stay there. What more we booked for two nights la.
The corridors seemed dim but it's the usual as per other hotels.
Only that this one has a circular corridor hence you may not be able to have a clear sight of what's coming ahead. However, we were lucky cos we bumped into our housekeeper a few times so that's not creepy.
We got a room at a corner before the corridor turned on the 53rd floor.
Mind you MBS Infinity pool's at 57th. So it's really a bonus to have an amazing view for our stay. The best view I must say. Of the harbor which includes MBS, Flyer, Gardens by The Bay and Marina Barrage. I'm still not over the night view. We could even see the Supertree Light Show and the MBS laser show from our room’s balcony.
Balcony. It’s not every time we get a balcony for our staycations.
Imagine a balcony on your 53rd floor room. With no grills. And a glass wall that allows you to look down. It was rather narrow too and there’s a notice that says max 3 persons allowed at each one time. Oh and before you step out, you have to be careful in not tripping over the base of the sliding door. And since you are on the 53rd floor, it’s really chilly to be out there standing. The wind’s just too strong. Not good for people who have drank.
Had a hard time trying to sleep on the 1st night. Then I find that the layout of the furniture’s rather weird. The bed senget the TV on the bed side. The husband ngigau too. Luckily I was messaging with the best friend so I wasn’t really feeling scared. It’s all after midnight.
We took the Duck tour the next day and got to know that right in front of our room is the War Memorial monument. Where some of the urns were buried under.
That explained the weird dream the husband had till he ngigau. About Japanese soldiers.
Thankfully we were all rather tired on the 2nd night that we managed to sleep off. The kid had slept soundly though for both nights after sessions of swimming.

This is the view from the Pool level on the 8th floor.
And that’s the monument right there.
But the view. The sunrise really right in front of us too!
I was a little late to catch the sunrise this was past 7am already.
But afterall that’s been written, I guess it’s no harm to stay at least a night in Swissotel.
For the amazing view.
