Bali

Before it became SO yesterday, wld like to update abt my Bali trip. Was looking forward to the trip cos everybody's been der. Didn't know what's in store only that Dad mentioned the itinerary didnt change at all since he last went there. Like real je tau. Anyways, here goes:

Bali's temples are all not covered..Hence, they will pray come rain or shine.
They placed their offerings twice daily.
Men wear sarong to temple while ladies wear sarong plus sash around their waist.
There are patungs at almost every corner and house and their bottom half covered with sarong. Unmarried couples cannot go to Tanah Lot cos there is a pantang that they will not last.
Usually it will rain during CNY and it means good luck.
We had an accident at one of the lunch venue; a reversing car hit my side. The car was badly dented I was not hurt, thankfully. The strawberries I was holding jumped though.
Majority of their roads are one-lane.. Overtaking was madness.

The incomplete statue. His hands were somewhere below the higher ground.
Not joined yet.

He's supposed to be sitting on this Garuda soon.

And it should turn out like this.
The whole statue is made of copper and once completed, it's gonna be higher than Statue of Liberty.

what I meant when I mentioned their patungs wear sarong.

Colorful fruits filled the rdside and we bot the huge green mango!
At $5 per kg and the one we chose was really a kg.
Oh we ate it using spoon since we didn't have knife.
At an oddly hr of midnite. Weird but yummy.

One of the temples' visit.
We had to don sarongs. And sash.

Where the holy water appears. The 2 black spots there.
Mother nature.

Something we dun get to see here.

At tanah lot. Where unmarried couples are forbidden to go. hee.

One can only go there during low tide.

The blue holy snake. U can hold it and make a wish.
But we just took a peep and the jaga said he's sleeping.
During high tide, he will bring him up to shore.

The location of the accident. Funnily it happened at the carpark.
The guy was just reversing blindly. Craps.
Their carparks damn squeezy.
And almost every carpark has a security or attendant to assist in parking.

Our last day and lucky enough to witness a funeral procession.
Involved so many people and they were walking on the roads.
Cannot imagine the traffic hold up at the back.
They were on the way to Kuta.

So were we! hee. Walked over to the beach.

The waves were beautiful and that's it.
The funeral procession was on our left, beachgoers in the middle and surfers on the right.
Happening!

Simply love watching the waves roll in. :)
