Down Under - Sydney (25th April till 1st May 2011)

It was rather an impromptu trip altho plans were made like a yr or two ago or so. Suddenly sis instructed me to take leave so that we cld go see her fren down under. So she booked the flight alr and of cos sponsored me for it else I dread to accompany her. Seriously. Hee. For the first time, we took a hybrid flight with BA to Sydney and Qantas upon return. The fd wasn't that bad with BA serving us Mutton Briyani and Qantas feeding us with hot choc and ice cream!

Day 1
Anyways, we took the night flight and I slept for a gd 2hrs at least. I rarely sleep in flights. Reached Sydney and took a cab to the Service Apt. The cab didn't drop us exactly there so we had to walk in the cold and it drizzled too. After dumping our luggages at the lobby, we walked to have our 1st bf. It was a WALK indeed. Took the straight road up and down the slopes and turned into the wrong street. Hee. And to make matters worst, we havent shower and there was a heavy downpour. Had to buy a brolly along the way. The bf was worth it tho! A hearty one. Aft that we walked back to Paddy's mkt which was very like Bugis Village. Grabbed some souvenirs and had a cosy Jap lunch by the street. Went back to the apt to have a bath and we walked our way to Harbourside. Dinner was at Uighur Cuisine, Mongolian food. Very meaty and filling. Walked back and had Ice cream from Passionflower.

Day 2
Had a gd nite slp and felt all energised. Took the light rail (looks like tram from road to train tracks) to Rozwell. Had to walk (again!) to Balmain up and down the slopes again to reach bf destination, Kazbah. Middle eastern food! Aft bf, we took the light rail and changed to Monorail to go into the city for some shopping! Imagine having monorail in Orchard rd. Yeap. Something like that. Dinner was Jap at Makoto. Very near our apt in fact abt 5mins walking only. Then we walked to Circular Quay for the night view of Sydney bridge and Opera House. Stopped by Max Brenner for dessert.Yummy!

Day 3
Started early cos we catching a 2hr train (think KTM) to Katoomba for Blue Mts. It's like a sub urban area of Sydney. Blue Mts was freezingly cold! I was smoking as I talked. hee. So jakun eh. Took the skyway - freaky becos cldnt see anything as it was covered by mist but I cld hear the waterfalls, rail down the steep slope - was SO FUN but over too quickly and the cable way - back to the top of the mts. The mist cleared and the THREE SISTERS showed themselves proudly. Took the 2hr train ride back to Sydney central and took a cab to Mixing Pot - Pasta with black sotong.

Day 4
Went to Newtown to have Black Pastry for bf then we went to DFO (direct factory outlets). Grabbed a few clothes and took a cab to Fish Mkt for lunch. Had a huge seafood platter by the docks. Took train and changed to bus to get to the famous Bondi beach. Wasn't crowded cos it was pretty cold for a swim. Aft that we squeezed in a movie, Paul, which we paid $18 each. Then we still walked to Circular Quay to have Pancakes on the Rocks!

Day 5

Took the ferry heading to Taronga Zoo. A zoo with a view! Not as vibrant as our zoo thou but they had cable cars there. After zoo we changed ferry and went to Manly. Had Indian dinner at Kammadhenu back at Newtown.

Day 6
Final day and we're flying off at late noon. Sis made me walked over 5km just to get her limited edition Crumpler. Limited edition becos they sew the bag right there in the shop. Grabbed mom a teapot as well.

Enjoy the pics below. It was quite challenging to select a few out of the 500+ pics we snapped.
