Heart’s so so full

 This post gonna cover 2 weekends.

Where we continued jalan raya with the neighbours and kids’ schoolmates. We went after school and thankfully managed to be done by 6pm. Quite an achievement with timing being carefully planned. 

We completed 4 houses where we had Soto, Bubur Pulut Hitam, finger food, Nasi Tomato and Ayam Merah and tonnes of fun!

We took a break from Raya visiting by doing some errands at Suntec. This lemon tart from Mamma Mia was so refreshing!

On Sunday, we celebrated Mom’s belated birthday complete with the whole family.

This yam cake was yammy too!

Moving on to the next long weekend cos Friday’s PTC. However, the boy was down with bad cough and was given 2 day MC. Alhamdulillah now the fever’s gone but his cough’s lingering still.

In the late afternoon, my favourite girlfriends came full force with the kids. Finally terubat rindu.

Amazed at how far we’ve come. Through milestones and Covid. Thankful that they took leave and made time and initiated the meet-up. Siap with Kebaya and Baju Kurung! ❤️

Was really really looking forward to Sat cos the best friends’ coming. We missed 2 birthdays and this meet-up was rather impromptu and so glad that it happened. ❤️

Ultimate gratitude and bliss for having them as my best friends for 32 years! Almost all my life.

After hosting the best friends, we headed for an open house. Pancit ye. And yay, today we crashed to the cousin’s place and had even requested baked sushi. 🫣 Sedap eh tak rugi self-invite kan diri. Just look at the spread! And biasa la he even packed us goodies. So thankful and blessed. Syawal’s over and I’m left with this itchy throat and hoarse voice.

Extremely exhausted. My ultra long weekend started from Thurs. Jalan raya with the neighbours but only 1 house eh. The kids’ screaming just drained all of my energy.

Friday was Mom’s birthday so we went over after school. Headed out to grab cake and lazy susan from Ikea. Back to Mom’s then while waiting for Bro, guests came to Mom’s. Rushed home cos the boy has his Madrasah. 

Saturday came and I woke up early to make mee goreng. After that had errands over at Thomson. 

Was early for appt so ketuk sis CBTL. 😆

Appt lasted for 3hrs eh. 

Came home and was about to laze when guests arrived! Unexpectedly. Dah tu takpe, last minute nak pi beraya lak. Lucky was within the neighbourhood. But tired seh.

On Sunday, I cooked up a storm. Takla.

Nasi hujan, ayam kurma, ayam goreng and sambal prawns. From Subuh ye. Then guests arrived close to noon after which we rushed to a wedding. All the way to Joo Chiat eh. Meanwhile the boy entertained another group of guests. Ingat after wedding can chill all the way, another group of guests came eh! Oh the night then just got started. Went to Nex, Changi village, Changi beach and home at midnight.

Today we continued beraya. Went to 3 houses and officially closed the Raya visiting. BUT BUT, there’s still open house this wkend. 🫣

Style!

Proud of myself for getting all the lilies available at the ‘mall’. Actually just 3 stalks but they’re so green and wangi. Sis only gotten that crochet one for mom as well and a Polar cake that’s on discount. 🤭 Not sure if mom’s a little sad that it’s not full attendance and no presents eh. When I passed her the lilies dia nak faux flowers lak.

2nd raya outing, ootd.

Covered 4 houses. Penat giler eh.

Clashed with Obek at Bibik’s house. 

Obek still pelok me.

Singgah mall at Abg’s place to grab dinner padahal da tapau nasi minyak from Bibik.

Got tikus crossed by Mak and Sis’ feet at the carpark. Kecoh.

Went raya to the husband’s side, we managed to cover 5 houses.

Alhamdulillah. Drama tak sudah.

This sampul given by his childhood friend. He never fails to invite us over.

The boy suka gi sana cos of cats. They even have their own ‘sealed up’ corner.

Then the niece came over our place after her work. Apalagi, requested for her to bring some desserts. Sedap ye! Eh.

More gifts came in today.

From the husband’s bff.

What I had for buka just now.

Definitely better than Nasi Ambeng.

Alot of addition of dishes from the neighbour.

Cooked Nasi Hujan Panas today. Replaced minyak sapi with butter and exclude the colorings. Probably next time can just tabur raisins.

Done cooking Ayam Kurma and Sambal Udang by noon. 

This is such a simple recipe. Lotsa onion and prawns je.

What I meant by lots! Of bawang goreng.

Yay! Dapat ketupat from Abg.

Mom gave serunding too semalam so da almost complete. Tomorrow going to cook sambal udang and ayam kurma. And make some nenas and timun salad. Oh gonna try that Nasi Hujan too. Ambitious tak?

Probably just 1/3 of the full kuih raya. Didn’t even include Mom’s signature Makmur and Tart.

There’s a total of 7 bottles on the tray now and Mom’s rempenyek for the boy (peanutless).

Not many new ideas or additions to the decor.

Shift some stuff from the rooms out and the husband didn’t allow me to put the alas. 

If only the house can be this tidy everyday.

Almost Syawal now.

Here’s the food we had. Sadly no Mac bf for Sahur for 2 years already now. I think we ordered less this time but we took turns ordering food for every weekend with the family so that Mom need not cook for us. She still cooked Sahur though. Harus.

1. Made apam balik, managed to give the neigbour and also parents. Super easy eh got the instant mix and even the nuts included.

2. Sis ordered some tarts and cakes. Sedap!

3. Bro bought some Easter tarts from CBTL.

4. Hotpot for Iftar, kecoh eh. 🤣

5. I ordered some seafood platter from Sofnade. Hmmm should we have that today, last kopek? But feels like Jinjja today.

6. Secret Recipe cakes! That’s rare.

7. Cooked Sabsuka. Super filling.

8. Telur bird sambal with Nasi Lemak. 😋
