END of Syawal

Blessed that this Syawal we received 78 guests throughout. Alhamdulillah.
And even today we had 4 families over.
But the longest Syawal day was yesterday.
Travelled Chai Chee - CCK - BB - Sembawang then home.
Quite an achievement but so exhausting.
Worth it though because the last host thanked us sincerely for coming.
We went to cousin’s housewarming and birthday gathering too yesterday.
As we get older, it’s only right for us to bond closer especially with cousins and family.

Really hope he loves the gift. Although not from his wish list at all.
Gotta gear up for the brand new school term.
Ready or not. Back to routine tomorrow.

My favourite collection ❤️

Thanks to Tuk tuk Cha bubble tea, I’m having a hard time to sleep.
Urm WE including the husband. Lol.
Today I had the time to wash my dustbags and unbox my Gucci finally.
After doing laundry in the morning, in between cooking and settling the kid then iron clothes for the new week. Could at last sit down and clean briefly my bag rack.

So I took this picture to keep count of my humble collection.
So blessed and grateful and thankful that all were gifts especially from the husband and one from the sis. A little secret.
I stuffed two bags with my Duffy and Shelly so that they take their shape.

Here’s the details (left to right; top to bottom):
1. Gucci Marmont Matelassè mini bag
2. Gucci Ophidia pouch (latest addition!)
3. Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere 30 (first ever LV from sis, 6 yrs ago!)
4. Louis Vuitton Alma BB in Damier
5. Louis Vuitton Neverfull in Monogram (inclusive of a wristlet)

I might want to repaint my rack or change to another. That’d have to wait.
It’s going to be a long Saturday with a wedding to attend, mom’s place, birthday party and an open house or two. And you’d think Raya’s over by tmr?
The best friend’s coming over on Sunday!
She’ll do the closing Insha Allah. Heh.

Busy as bee

June’s never been this busy. Simply because Raya falls on school holidays. Means squeezing raya visitings, excursions, activities and also the husband’s official trip. Just look at the past few days. We were so packed back to back since last Friday till yesterday.
The brothers came on Fri, we went Dino Quest and town on Saturday, visiting again on Sunday and squeezed Children’s Festival at GBTB. Monday came and we continued visiting to the neighbours’ and came the 3D2N staycation over at Hard Rock Hotel.
Anyways, objective of this entry is to share some of the food I cooked for breaking fast.

Acceded the husband’s request for corn pudding.
But he only had it a few days later because too full.

Yang ni, saw from Instagram.
Kway teow ladna.
Just like hor fun and very simple because used garlics only.

Mee bandung.

Mee rebus using Asyura paste.
Quite tasty I must say.

Fried kway teow and mini pizza baguette.

Probably the first few dishes I cooked.
Baked pasta and sardin puffs! 😋

3D2N: Hard Rock Hotel Sentosa

Reporting ‘live’ from Hard Rock Hotel Sentosa.
Kinda knew what to expect so I was not having high expectations.
The service has been inconsistent whereby I find that the concierge was helpful in snapping for us a pic and that the reception was informative. However, housekeeping was rather cold pretending as though they didn’t see you walking past. I’ve been to hotels where their staff greets or at least smiles at guests in lifts, walkways or anywhere within the hotel’s vicinity.
The plus point’s definitely the beach cum pool so we didn’t have to make our way to Sentosa’s beach for sandplay.

Here’s some pictures from our stay!

Wanted to snap a photo at the main icon with the guitars but the lights were off last night.
So took this instead.

Pretty cool guitar rack for toiletries.

We didn’t select pool view but got this room facing the Dolphins pool instead.
Definitely worth it seeing the Dolphins play rather than people at the pool.

Also got the beautiful sunset at the corner from our room.

And the beautiful beautiful sky as the background of the cable car.

Watched the Crane Dance show for the 5374662819th time just for the fireworks! 🎇

I’d really really recommend this free show for dates because fireworks on a date is just ❤️

Wanted to get for bro a T-shirt and saw the kids T-shirt and there’s promo of Buy 3 Get the 4th free. And lucky me found a long sleeve T-shirt siap dgn manik-manik.
Got a pretty design at the front too but gotta lose my fatty tummy first.

This staycation’s the only ‘trip’ for the boy for June school holidays.
Occupied with Raya visiting and the husband’s official trip, hope the boy did enjoy his school break. Gotta tune back to routine in a few days.

20 Syawal - 2 houses!

It’s quite an achievement to be able to complete 2 house visits on a Monday.
And luckily it’s all within walking distance lah.
Asked the neighbours if they’re in today and we swiftly went over.

See lah what we’re wearing. But don’t get us wrong. We’re donned in Baju Kurung.
Just that I’m wearing my Adidas slip-ons. 😆

Persuaded the husband to grab me some durian! Seriously I’m fine with $10 or even those 2 packs for $10. But the husband insisted (as always because he’d only want the best for ehem - Me!) to get the $13 per kg. Told him 1 fruit is enough he bought me 2.
Excited about tomorrow cos finally the kid’s quality time! 🤗

19 Syawal: 2 houses and Children’s Festival at GBTB

Sucha long weekend instead! Thought yesterday’s outing was already impromptu enough, today only the visit to the best friend’s confirmed. The other house was only confirmed 2 hours in advance. And the outing after the house visiting was even more unplanned. The husband told me just after the 2nd house and when we’re on the way to the bus stop. Feeling kinda lazy to go to MBS in my jubah.

And in the bus on the way there, realised I didn’t even bring my cards (membership/ debit/ IC). And I only had a little over hundred of cash.
The husband offered to get me the pouch while I settled dinner. 👌
Thank you so much for the treat! May Allah bless you with more rezeki. This is probably THE ONLY TIME that I had such an urge to purchase with no special occasion.
MBS is definitely my favourite shopping destination because of the Rewards Card and I’m able to redeem some amount every time I make a purchase at Gucci.

Also, glad that we could squeeze a little walk over to Children’s Festival.
Loves the skyline as always. 💕

This is when they released some bubbles during the show.

They always miss out the dinosaur which happens to be the kid’s favourite.
Pretty sure he had a fun weekend!

DINO Quest

The boy finally went to DINO Quest today!
It was quite brief. Because you had to follow the sequence and zones. Not so much of free and easy and not many photo opportunities around.
However, it’s very interactive cos u get to solve your own fossil sample.
Right from the start.

Of course the kid enjoyed himself although initially he was quite apprehensive cos it was  dark. After a while, he started to enjoy the exhibits.

Our stamps. Actually you’re able to re-enter throughout the day.
But we took buses to Orchard instead. ☺️

Oleh-oleh

Alhamdulillah. The husband’s back from his official trip.
So staycation’s at mom’s is over. Back to cooking and real chores.
Time really fly by now that the kid’s left with a week of holiday.
He has yet to go for any other ‘holiday-related’ activities since we had to jalan raya, then the husband’s got the trip. Hope we could squeeze something for him this coming week.
Pretty sure though that he enjoyed his staycation at nenek’s.

So when the husband asked what I want from HK, I merely sent him Duffy Disneyland photo. And I still cannot believe that he bought me the whole set of Duffy and Friends lah.
Mind you, each plush toy already costs $56 so this whole collection costed him $300!
Hey could get a Kate Spade kan. ♠️ He even got me Starbucks bear too.
Aaaawwww. My husband’s the BEST!
Now where can I store them yet I want to play with them. Hmm.

Managed to squeeze an impromptu date with my brisk walk partner!
Aha. The one which we started back in 2010.
So much has changed like the place we used to brisk walk now’s filled with bto.
And we’re now moms of toddlers.
So sweet of her to pass me some oleh-oleh from Jakarta.

Raya’s still very much here. Gotta be receiving guests still later today and cook a little.
Glad that we settled cousin’s birthday present too!
Hope he’ll love it although it’s not in his wishlist. Ahaks!
Already had 3 invitations next Saturday; Open House, Wedding and Housewarming/ Birthday! Busy nya! A good kind of busy. 🤗

Visiting marathon - 1st Syawal

Bro drove today and as per last year (bro didn’t tag along and no transport), we managed to cover 8 houses. Which are all the direct relatives and compulsory ones.
BIL has moved slightly further but all’s good still.

Finally I could carry my GG marmont matelassè mini bag cos the boy carried his own bag. But I really had to choose to use my LV key pouch for notes and ez link.
I didn’t even carry my lipstick. Hehe. Threw a little make-up pouch into the kid’s.

So these are this year’s essentials.
My eyebrow liner, lipstick, sunscreen and tiny Chloe perfume. 💕
Another marathon awaits this weekend.

Syawal 2019

Alhamdulillah Syawal’s here!
Bab masak memasak done. Bab kemas mengemas done. Bab susun2 kuih dalam botol done! Thanks to the husband’s great help!
And I’m excited to share this year’s decor.
Can’t help it as we couldn’t re-arrange furnitures much, gotta add new or upcycle certain stuff. So here’s some pics!

Grateful for the new chinese calligraphy. Moved the plant from Study Room to the top of his book cabinet. Bought new Turkish cushion covers from Arab Street.
Re-used Propupstore topiary for the 3rd year.

Closed up view. Loves the maple leaves on the cushion cover.

Probably the ONLY time when the dining table’s clear of miscellaneous stuff.
Mom’s tarts, makmur and rempenyek deserved the front row indefinitely!
Glad that my Naraya tissue box cover’s still in good condition.

Filled the vase given by sis with the hydrangeas bought by the husband.
Big canisters from Propupstore, oak lid canisters from Metro and bronze leaves placemats from Hooga (only $2.90 each!)!

Still quite a lot of stuff to do early tomorrow morning.
Packing the kid’s bag, my bag, make-up pouch, snap a family photo and start of a 9 house visit marathon! 😆

Sneaks

So excited to start decorating the house! Went to Sultan Bazaar for the first time today and We managed to get our stuff and food and got home within 2 hours! Efficient or what! 1st stop was to purchase the Quran, kurma. Then crossed the road for sis’ cloth, crossed back to find Propupstore and bought the canisters for keropok. Crossed again to find the bazaar and pit stopped to buy cushion covers. Ended the bazaar with Apam Balik, Nasi Mandhi and  Tuk Tuk Cha milk tea. Cab back home! All in 2 hours! 💪

Sneaks of the new addition of our house decor! Chinese calligraphy.
Can’t wait to complete the decoration by Raya eve. 🌌

Three

We’re 3 days away from Syawal. Although most of the stuff are done, still need to do more preparations. Here’s the list:
- fill up the cookie canisters
- final house decor
- iron the raya baju
- plan for Saturday’s guests’ menu
- wipe the ceiling fans
- go marketing

Been wanting to try Annstove and sis ordered it for buka today! Yay. We were quite anxious as the delivery was really almost buka time and luckily they were still warm so we didn’t had to re-heat. Had the signature MacNcheese (the kid’s finished 3/4 of it), huge black pepper spicy beef shepherd pie and lasagna. My fave got to be the shepherd pie!
Must be the cili padi.

A lot of stuff happening in June Insha Allah. What with the kid’s holiday and Hari Raya visiting. We will have to go to at least 7 houses on the first day! Help.
