Just like that

A pretty short week as the husband has yet to start lessons and our week started on Tuesday instead. The kid caught the flu bug so he missed 2 days of school this week. Guess he’s confused too about what day tomorrow will be.
Went to Mom’s today and the cousin from KL came.
The boy even managed to nap there and after early dinner we took bus to town.

Needed a restock of my serum and yay the husband bought for me (again!). Alhamdulillah. May Allah bless him with more rezeki.
The serum’s actually the one in the box.
The free pouch contained additional serum, eye cream and the lip gloss!
Now I gotta use it lightly because I think I over applied the previous serum which was bought back in Nov. That’s about half a year only.
Looking forward to Easter break already but that means Ramadhan will be fast approaching then comes Raya and the husband’s official trip.
So not ready. 🥴

Santai-santai (Batam 3D2N)

Hope that the boy had much fun during his 1-week break. Pretty sure he enjoyed his beach day, Disney on Ice and Batam trip. He’s been really patient with my shopping and our jalan-jalan itinerary. So here’s the ever changing itinerary for Batam. Our first family trip a country outside Malaysia. An hour ferry ride away. Glad that we booked the Business Class return trip for the pleasant experience.

Batam Itinerary

23 March, Sat
4.30pm : Arrival Harbour Bay - Aston Hotel
6.30pm: Aston - Nagoya
9.30pm: Nagoya - Aston

24 March, Sun
DC Mall
Nasi Padang place
Zapin cake
Back at Hotel
BCS
Barelang Bridge
Kampong Boyan
Nagoya

25 March, Mon
12pm: Aston - Harbour Bay

The main purpose of the trip was to celebrate the Dad’s birthday in advance.
Requested for a complimentary cake from the hotel and was impressed with the presentation. The breakfast buffet spread was good too.
Probably the only low was that our apartment wasn’t ready although we checked in late at around 5pm. Imagine if we were to check in at the official 2 or 3pm time. Thankfully the other room was available so we could freshen up before heading to our 1st stop.

The furthest by far probably about 45min from our hotel. Barelang Bridge for sunset but it was covered by the clouds. Shocked to see the local people chilling by the edge of the bridge with strong wind blowing. If SG sure kena fine for risking their own lives sitting there.

When the bags were ready and multiplied for the journey home.
Our luggage got heavier and the handcarry bags consisted of mainly keropok2.
Didn’t include those other handcarry bags filled with the Zapin cakes and Kek Lapis.

Our view from the Business Class seat on the upper deck of the ferry.
It’s less chaotic and other pax were really Business people.

Ermmm all mine except the front Bateeq x Transformers top for the boy.
The husband bought only a book. 🤭

That salted egg noodle only costed $0.40.
Need to finish these up before the fasting month arrives.
ALHAMDULILLAH for the rather smooth trip which began right at the Immigration and till we reached home. Hopefully the driver cum guide wasn’t annoyed with our ever changing plans. These are the main highlights of Batam trip.

- The local people are friendly especially the sales people. They could be sitting down next to the wagons to sort and arrange the clothes at Matahari but there’ll be other staff ready to serve you.

- We didn’t have to wait long for our food at the restaurants.

- There’s a busy T junction near our hotel which didn’t have a traffic light. Amazingly the drivers and motorcyclists gave way to one another without much fuss.

- The food’s quite cheap when everytime we spent less than $100 for a huge feast.

Feast trip

No we didn’t go to the typical kelong kinda restaurant. Wanted to go to the one at Barelang but the driver wasn’t keen to send us there. Sis wanted to go to Nagoya again so we ended up having dinner there twice but different restaurants.

Pisang keju, salted egg dory, batagor (fried wanton with sauce), pisang keju, Bebek Penyet, cereal prawns and soto ayam. The food we ordered was good though.
Cheap too. $62 for 8 of us.

The popular Pisang Keju and Murtabak manis (I chose choc and cheese).
It cost us merely $2 for a boxful of gorpis.
We ordered 4 boxes each!

Generous servings. Puas hati! 😋
Itinerary and shopping list update in next entry!

Harbour Bay

Reporting ‘live’ from Aston, Batam.
Threw up thai iced tea.
Ended our jalan-jalan late at about 11pm (12+ SG time).

One of the newer hotels around.
Staying at the 3-bedroom apt while Bro is over at their deluxe king room at the hotel side (shorter building). Our room’s at level 15. As of now the Azan Subuh is being called.
Alhamdulillah.

Disney on Ice 2019

The day seemed long although we went out only after Zohor. Because I washed laundry and hang them out, fried rice and chicken.
The boy’s kept asking when we will we go out for Disney on Ice.
Cos he woke up quite early today. Excited la tu.
It’s definitely different this time compared to 9 years ago (woah!).
Yeap my 1st Disney On Ice was way back in 2010!
Alright pictures!!!
2010 they have The Incredibles and the Princesses but this time they showed Frozen, Finding Nemo, Moana and Inside Out!

They have fire, pyrotechnics and ‘snow’!
They even asked the audience to choose Mickey and Minnie costumes.
For the finale. 💕

Haven’t really watched Moana the movie but I love anything ‘The Rock’!

The crowd’s favourite. Frozen ❄️ ☃️

Of course the bapak kena ketuk.
I wanted the photo (still $25 lei same price as back in 2010), Nemo at $35 and the souvenir cup at $12 (with coke)! Haven’t even include popcorn at $8.

After the show we went to Tampines cos the husband wanted to pass his handphone.
We had dinner at The Meathouse.
Not bad and it wasn’t chaotic.
They even provided cloth napkin.
Flat out now but need to pack the luggage next.

Sunny Wednesday at Funfest

The husband took leave today to bring the kid out. Asked him where he wanted to go and initially he said Gardens by the Bay. Then I asked if he wants to go to the beach or Suntec City (it’s me lah who wanted to go). He told the dad and was rejected but of course eventually he gave in to his son’s request. Alhamdulillah at least the husband is okay with playing sand together. It was our first time going to Sentosa by public and we went out early before 8.30am. The morning peak was still there and I really wondered what time do these workers start. 9.30? 10?? 🤔 tsk.

When we reached the beach, the Funfest hasn’t really started. The staff were setting up the inflatables. But it was a good timing because we could take photos easily.
Spent about an hour playing sand and made our way for lunch at RWS.
Went to Akemi Uchi and Toys’R’us at Vivo before we headed for home.

Look who welcome us to the Funfest!
Such a close encounter of 🐿!

This is so pretty! A different display besides the inflatables.

I think she looks a little deflate here.
Probably she can’t stand the heat too! 😆

Sentosa has always been a part of my life throughout my growing years.
Mom used to bring us to Sentosa every school holiday, spending time at the beach with the cousins. We took the ferry over and of course enjoyed the monorail rides despite the long queues. I even had my first job at Sentosa and stayed for 2 years.

Calming. And because of the Funfest, I got to enjoy free music while the boys play sand.

I knew there was a restock of these diffusers and the husband wanted to get 6 bottles!
I said NO lah so many for what.
Then he paid for 5 bottles.

Dropped by the mall to change money for the upcoming weekend trip and saw that Hokkaido having Buy 1 Get 1 Free!
So I paid $9.10 for all six of them! 😍

Reward

Planned to lepak at home and make the boy practise his writing. But the mom been pestering me to go over. So took public after 9am and went over.
After all the long tedious process at the bank, we’re finally done!
At least mom could tick one thing off her list.

Was getting so thirsty and decided to ask mom for Starbucks.
See that :) there? Such a small gesture that lifted me up instantly!
Anyway mom’s going to get nightmares about the $7 drink which she could have used to buy fruits and other food! She’s the kind who’s really overjoyed to buy 2 different kinds of vegetables at a dollar!

A little surprise from the husband ❣️

Yay! Today noon the husband messaged me a picture of the KS handphone cases. Dislike having the choice to decide because I simply cannot decide and think too much to come to a decision. So I let the kid choose instead.
He chose one of the choices which I had already sent to the husband earlier.

Kate Spade with their new paperbags and packaging!
Quite refreshing but I love their old paperbags too.

The husband got it gift wrapped too!
I think they’re moving more to pink than green now.  ♠️
Still remembers that he bought me a Kate Spade case too back in 2011!

Quality Family Time

To think that Saturday was long, Sunday was eeeeeeeven longer! We all woke up a little later than usual probably 9ish before getting ready almost immediately to go out because of the appointment made. Had to have early lunch as appointment was right at 12.

We were called right after we registered and need not wait. Ordered the phones and thought we would be done quicker than we planned. But it took almost an hour still to complete the whole transaction for both contracts! The boy even had time to ketuk me a Jurassic World dino at Toys’R’us. But Alhamdulillah we managed to take bus home still for Zohor and meeting up with the rest though they had to wait for 15mins.

Went to fetch SIL then headed to Expo. Not bad cos they having Robinsons and MPH sale. Nothing interesting over at MPH and don’t feel like shopping for stuff at Robinsons. The husband grabbed a bolster and his charcoal pillow! And I bought junks! Pappadom in canisters, nacho cheese, Master Kim snacks. Adoi. I guess they’re nearing expiry dates. Cos saw 1 that expires in July. Fed the boy creamy pasta with chicken while waiting for the parents.

Final stop! Tang Tea House at Changi. The best satay in SG! Dinner and we ended quite early I must say since we started the car ride at 2+ and we reached home slightly before 7. Alhamdulillah.

Renewed contract.

Satay for 2 days in a row!
This has got to be Dad’s and husband’s favourite.
Satay Kulo at Tang Tea House Changi.

Favourite golden buns with salted egg fillings!

And sis’ best friend never fails to buy me souvenirs whenever she goes for trips!
This one’s from the Land of Smiles.

******************************************
Thankful, fulfilling weekend with the cousins and family. Bummed that I couldn’t meet Obek in person because time doesn’t permit. And for now, a high mountain of dirty laundry awaits my new week! 😭

Late Night Saturday

It’s already Sunday! I don’t know when was the last time we got home this late?? We’ve only reached home at around 12.30am. Anyways here’s the itinerary for the cousins!

My place - Marina Barrage - Satay by the Bay - Gardens by the Bay - Changi Village - Changi Beach (and they even started from Sentosa then to Hougang’s)

Over at Barrage.

So many kites, kids playing ball, a rabbit, joggers, e-scooters and cyclists.

Took us some time to find seats because of the timing.

Second last pit stop for Cendol over at Changi Village. 🍧

I hope he knows

Yes! Congrats to the husband for being elected and being given a positive feedback for his performance. Alhamdulillah. May Allah bless him with good health and abundance of rezeki. I hope he knows that I am proud of his achievements despite his daily whines of his job woes.  Always always reminding him not to care so much about what others have to say or comment, as him doing his job sincerely and with amanah, Insha Allah will be blessed with barakah.

So I (not so) secretly ordered him the same Mickey T-shirt so that he could be twinning with the kid for Disney on Ice. I gotta hunt my H&M Mickey sweater probably at Mom’s since I can’t find it here. Sure the kid can’t wait for the show cos he would scream every time the ad’s on tv. I can’t wait too! Glad that I managed to buy the Dad’s at a huge discounted price over at Qoo10. With free shipping even!

Got him the cake for a little celebration for his election. He’s feeling excited and all but I predict that there’s going to be additional load and even events that may take up a bit of our family time.

So what’s the plans for the weekend? The long distance cousins’ coming over and I would make them Kuih Keria Insha Allah. And Sunday gonna have an appointment at the phone shop.

On a side note, the bff told me about a huge break up yesterday whereby the couple supposed to be hitched this weekend but being cancelled. Allah. No matter what the reason no matter how the situation seems to be, I cannot imagine the heartache that the strong lady has to deal with. No words can console the crushed heart at this moment but I pray that she will get up on her feet again in no time. When things get too tough, I hope that we can be reminded of how temporary this world is.

“I am NOT shopaholic, I am helping the economy”

Woah only now I can rest before fetching the kid. Went for some groceries shopping after sending him. Kapolah the ayam, marinate and cook sekali. So now Nasi Lemak with Sambal Paru done! Alhamdulillah.

So I received my FV purchase (made on Monday) yesterday. YaY! They had their 24hr flash sale but don’t bother trying to buy during sale cos their website won’t allow you to do just that. I have been abstaining myself well from FV page. Okla browse here and there but always thinking twice thrice umpteen times whether I should purchase or not. Then came a 20% promo code till end of March. Then appeared the Baju Kurung I’ve been waiting to buy since last Raya (2 months shy of Ramadhan now). Imagine the self-control I had all this while. Yeap! Down the drain. But I’m happy! Now I’ve got 2 new sets of baju kurung for Raya and weddings.

Wonder when will I get their box instead? Is it I must buy more items?

The Baju Kurung set costs me only $30+ only. What a good deal!
Especially loves the skirt with a little bit of train at the back.
But the material’s a bit like raincoat! Hah.
Got the Instant Duck too in Grey Gatsby.
Come to think of it, my tudung costs more than the set of baju kurung.

On Monday, we got a surprise delivery at the door.
Bro left KFC as we were not home at that time.
May Allah bless him with more rezeki.

Oh well

Updating the blog using the husband's lappie. Wow! When was the last time I did some typing using a keyboard? Been updating and reviving my blog using my phone instead. So what did I do on a sunny Sunday??

Had no plans just like yesterday. Today I cooked them prata to eat with my Mutton Dalca (from yesterday) for breakfast. Super lazy to go out when the husband suggested to go get a new phone. Searched and decided to go Waterway point. We both wanted lasagna for lunch and guess what? Pizza Hut's lasagna was not available. Hmph. We had to settle for Set Meal for 2 and vegetable soup. And we were so blur till we didn't order ala carte so that the kid could eat for free. Not eligible with any set meals. But Alhamdulillah. Kenyang indeed. Went to Toys'r'us after that and had to walk pass Daiso without entering. Self-control there. Headed to Singtel to purchase a phone but the waiting time was 1.5 hours so we went home instead. Well means I have more time to search for the best phone to settle with.

Got the Entangled Rapunzel adding to our Disney Lego.

Rapunzel crashing Jasmine’s castle.

And yay! Husband bought the tickets for Disney on Ice. Will be the first for the kid!

Favourite store.. sometimes

Can’t remember when was the last time I shopped at Daiso or should I say I can’t remember if I ever spent this much at Daiso. 😂 The outlet that I went to today has got to be one of the best because it’s huge, spacious and so so many varieties. Especially the Disney collection. And some new goodie bags. Don’t let me go to the birthday party collection! They have new designs. But I refrained (or not) myself and So I ended up with the loot below.

Guess how much I spent? Freaking 50 bucks la. 🤦‍♀️ So I got a total of 25 items - well mom got 4 so mine’s only 21. But 21?!? What did I buy? 😳 Here they are:

1. 5 sets of Mickey/ Minnie wet tissues (need them in my daily bags since I don’t carry those baby wipes anymore).
2. 2 smiley bamboo kitchen spatula (since I use it almost daily gonna change it soon)
3. 1 wooden Disney spoon (for husband’s daily honey water)
4. 2 ice cream goodie bags ziploc (useful for the kid’s emergency packs)
5. 2 Made In Thailand trays (to marie-kondo my tupperwares)
6. 1 plant pot (for my growing Citronella)
7. 1 pack of scrubs for stainless steel pots
8. 2 packs of cotton pads
9. 1 pack of Sakura goodie bags
10. 1 Mickey bin for toilet
11. 1 Mickey bowl for the kid
12. 1 solar powered swinging monkey toy
13. 1 pack of sponge (husband found it while vacuuming this morning)

All this loot is it because I’m deprived of Kaison? 😬 And now I’m abstaining myself from FV cos they having 20% sitewide! 🤭
