Abrupt

We brought the parents to take cable car today.
The first for the kid and his granddad.
Alhamdulillah the ticket service gave us the best price possible for all 5.
So we got a package of less than $100.

Finally we tried Rasa Rasa and it was a treat from the husband.
Call me boring but I’d still prefer Swensens any time.
Alhamdulillah for the rezeki and may Allah reward my husband with abundance.

Ready to walk into 2020?
I am truly saddened and affected that a childhood friend has left us to be with Allah.
Shocked to wake up to such news.
I teared while I asked the husband to sedekahkan Al-Fatihah after our Maghrib prayers.

P a n c i t

Felt so tired because we’ve been going out since the JB trip.
Yesterday went to bro-in-law’s place, cousin’s and mom’s.
Then today the husband decided to take us to Arab St.
Went home after the boy’s haircut and out again for dinner and library.

It’s our first time having Deer Briyani.

Had mutton steak too.
Eh sedap la. Tasted like mee goreng. 🤣

Luckily I remembered to buy these Cinnamon rolls.

Thank you husband for this cushion.
❤️

3D2N at Doubletree Hilton JB

I was nervous in bringing the boys for a stay at JB.
But after the impromptu trip with the best friend, I gained confidence and at least know where to go exactly. Alhamdulillah with Grab, travelling within JB is a breeze.
Ok before anything else, I’m thankful that we’re all safe back home.
Yes nothing feels like home especially when you’re on your own bed.

Here’s some bloopers that happened during our 1st JB trip as a family.

It began right after our tickets were scanned when the officer wanted to check the husband.
He merely asked for his passport as he was holding nothing but our big luggage.
That’s because he was left behind a nyonya limping and me and the boy were already upfront. Next after all the immigration checks done, we were excited that we almost board the train. Then I asked the husband to snap a pic of the boy but he was whistled real loud! 🤣 I quickly shoved the boy onto the train. Leaving the husband to settle with the officer. 😂
So we safely made across the border and tried to call for a Grab.
The husband couldn’t switch on his data.
So I told him to restart his hp when he indeed needed to just on his auto-roam. 😂
These were what made our trip memorable.

I knew that Doubletree is a little on the pricier side of accommodation.
But didn’t realised that I’ve booked executive room.
So we had access to the lounge and I guess we underused it.
Check-in was smooth but the room’s not ready when it’s already passed the time.
Had to wait about half an hour before we were given the cards.
And the lady passed us this MYR50 dining credit.
Managed to order Nasi Goreng and Iced Chocolate for just additional RM9.
It’s a great service recovery. 👍🏻

Breakfast was yummy as before.
I had Mee Hailam, Bakso, there’s lontong, Nasi Lemak eh cannot mention all la.
Just spoilt for choices.

Our random itinerary was:
Thurs - Paradigm
Fri - Midvalley/ Aeon Tebrau/ City Square/ Midvalley
Sat - Midvalley

We redeemed these passport covers at Midvalley.
I’m thankful we managed to dine at Din Tai Fung, Kyochon and A&W.
Like no need fly to KL already.

Yes, we had 20pcs of wings! Yums!

Lucky me that Bath and Body Works having sale so I grabbed those mini sprays.
Padini Jeans at only $22.70 each and the kid’s berms at $6.25 each!
Eh eh I never buy any tops for myself lah from Padini.

Probably the only one who bought cans of Popcorn when everyone else buys the pack ones. And thanks husband for the #88 Love Life quote book! ❤️

Check out how many pieces our bags at the end!
4 bags in total!
Clothes in luggage, groceries in gym bag, popcorn in backpack and mini drawers in reusable bag. Alhamdulillah we survived the train back home.
Going to recharge for the new year ahead!

Our holiday for 2019

Did I mention I was too lazy to plan for an overseas trip?
So I decided to bring the boys to JB.
Yasss our very first time travelling here on our own.
Normally we would rent a family car for 10pax for the whole family.
This is our first trip by train. Woah that’s a new record with no flights for a year.

And oh my, this is my very first time that we were greeted by this decoration.
So sweet siap with rose petals. ❤️

🥰🥰🥰

We had really late lunch at almost 5pm! Ermm guess that’s dinner.
So bought RM33.60 worth of sushi for supper.
That milk tea yummmms!

This is considered Day 0 but look at the haul done!
I didn’t know that I missed Kaison this much.
Those 3 boxes are mini desk drawers.
So pretty and cheap that we had to get 3!
And those sweaters are only RM34.95 ($11.49) when SG selling $19.95.
That’s a whopping $8 cheaper! 😍
Got my masks at less than $1.50 each cos buy 10 free 7! Gila.

Year-end GatherinG!

So today we had the annual gathering at Brownstone.
It was brief for me. Although my day started way early cos I cooked for the bro-in-law who’s coming for dinner. Proud that I could finished up by 10ish in the morning.
Even settled the laundry.

Deco at the lobby.

When the host said if poke’s okay for the food, didn’t expect her to prepare it herself.
I mean check out the condiments used!
Cucumber, avocado, edamame, jellyfish, ham, omelette and nuts.
Also sashimi and shrimps! Fish roe too!

And to top it off got torched at the top!
So yummy!

Although 3 didn’t turn up, the gifts were never less.
Loves every single gift and how thoughtful each is.
The kid’s so happy cos he got another trolley bag.

A personalised pen? Loves it!
Super grateful especially this time of the year.

Grateful and blessed 🤲

Today while carrying the dry laundry, the bell rang.
You know la my door bell rings like those recess bells kinda loud.
So the boy who was about to nap woke up.
Had to open the door with the mountain of clothes.

Saw a man with TGD paperbag at the door.
Cousin came to mind instantly and not only the snacks, he bought us the plushy which comes in a cool bag as well! ❤️
What have I done to deserve this? 😭
So touched and blessed and grateful for all these gifts.
May Allah reward him abundantly.

The study room’s filled with gifts and we still need to pack our stuff.
So I unboxed all the gifts received from the precious exes.
They’re all not only practical but so cute to the max!
Like that ice cream cone 🍦 clip, the unicorn cable cover and that full make-up set which comes in a whale. 🐳

21.12 Our first wedding staycation

It was the kid’s first Chinese wedding and I’m not sure how he will react.
He was definitely startled when he saw the cocktail crowd but quickly settled in.
Initially disappointed that he could not eat the appetizers but he definitely enjoyed the Nasi Minyak and chicken. And he was interested in his uncle Hx’s video montage too.

Our room’s view from the 12th floor of Marina Mandarin.

The hotel’s really tall and pretty Xmas tree. 🌲

What a gathering!

So all 9 of us made it to the annual gathering this time with only 1 absentee who’s Down Under. So grateful and glad that we’re still in touch despite life’s changes.
It went way back to more than 10 years ago and they keep consistently made the effort to gather. The last time I joined them was in 2016 but of course we had mini gatherings too.

My spread of desserts.
That’s a cempedak logcake!
How unique!

Me and 2nd partner.
Told you how lucky I am to still be in touch with all 3 partners.

My main gifts are those with the red ribbons on the left. 🎁
So thankful for this group! ❤️

It’s going to be a Long weekend!

Oh boy the weekend’s yet to be here but I’m already exhausted.
Help? I need ENERGY cos I’m meeting all of them exes tmr!
Excited much! Can you imagine the 8-9 of us sharing the table. 😂
When was the last time?!
Tomorrow will be another day of chores though I’m glad that the laundry’s done for tmr.
So left with marketing and cooking and ironing. That’s really a lot too right?

So we decided at the last minute to go to Jewel and thankfully the bus was rather empty.
Well, planned to enter the Canopy park but there’s a long queue so decided to give it a miss. Took pic at the huge Olaf at T2 and made our way to town (again!).
Cos the husband decided to buy the kid his rail track from Toys’r’us.
Alamak then he also got himself Snorlax and the boy wanted that small Pikachu from the Pokèmon Centre. Well I just got Elsa from Jewel but the husband bought for me Jeans and Tees from Mango! ❤️ Enough of spending already!
Hmmmm but can’t wait for our boxing day trip.

Fulfilling day

Yay all errands done today! Lunch with the parents.
Shopped for the husband’s last minute clothes for the weekend.
Went out quite early and probably the first few customers (even the POS system not up and running yet). Bought the kid’s shoes too! 🤗

What a spread! Alhamdulillah.
Couldn’t remember when was the last time we had a meal together with the parents.
May Allah reward the husband for treating us with good food.

Promised to get him a Shirt for the big event this Saturday so settled with this.
His first ever Polo Shirt.

So pretty la seh the gift box.
The husband’s so pleased.

And he bought me stuff from VS too! YaY. 🥳

(Almost) That time of the year

So grateful that the husband helped me buy (in fact bought me) these handsoaps!
He lugged them home by bus. ❤️

Has got to be the largest Bath & Body Works paperbag ever!

So can you count how many bottles do you see?
The lowest they can offer is $5 each. This time they’re 4 for $20 and the husband got me a dozen of them! And you gotta pay attention because they posted only on their ig story not even in their feed post. As usual the offer falls on weird weekdays like yesterday and today ONLY. And they throw in a free gift!
Husband’s so lucky cos previously he received a gift from Lush and this time from Bath & Body Works. Yay.
Gonna be packed days ahead!
Mr Sun please make a return! 🌞

Weekend(ed)

Loves my weekend because mom cooked my fave dish yesterday and today had a proper Cafe date with the ex. Early in the morning.
Reached home rather early for dinner so went out again with the family.
Had a really good time chilling with the ex and having proper conversation after so long.

Had rooibos milk tea.

And lychee rose cake.

Got my 3rd present from sis’ friend.
So thankful!

My first YSL

I remembered Dad had gotten us YSL bags before if I’m not mistaken from HK.
Years ago when I was still small.
And I don’t know why I don’t have any interest in luxury brand when I was still working.
Oh probably I did especially when I turned 30 last time.
Sis got me my first ever LV back then and I told myself clearly that’s going to be the only LV I’ll ever own. 6 years later, never did I expect to have a collection of LVs and Gucci. 😍

Yasssssss! And this is a gift from sis and also our very first online purchase of a luxury brand! Ordered on Sunday and received today.
Everything’s so luxurious except for the lack of paperbag.
Shall we try LV next for an online purchase?

So red! But I love it! It’d be a breeze to find it in my bags.
The item was packed in a brown carton covered with black tissue.
Completes with the invoice, message and the ribboned black box. ❤️

JB day trip with the best friend

Yay Alhamdulillah! Today’s JB outing with the best friend was smooth despite the persistent rain. It was just RM10 from checkpoint to the new Midvalley Southkey mall.
We met around 8.30am and parted ways by almost 5pm.
Can’t believe that the train ride was less than 5mins.

Super thankful that we could dine at Din Tai Fung.
Yumssss!

These yummy lava buns.

Chicken Xiao Long Baossssss!

Of course had to have this without the hassle of a queue.

Had root beer float and this over crispy waffles.

Proud of myself that I spent only RM204 at Padini! Hehe.
Can’t wait for the Boxing Day trip.

Annual Christmas lights

It’s kind of a family tradition to make a trip to town to check out the lightings. But the boy’s complaining that he didn’t want to go. Like he has lost interest.
Is that worrying? Just like one fine day he’s going to find it so uncool to go out with the parents. Seriously though, the decorations outside Ion annually is something you have to see for yourself. With all the luxury brands as the background. Picture perfect!

So 2019 belongs to Bvlgari.
That’s just like a light show on its own! 🎄

Kind of minimalist deco with just the christmas tree and another huge feature below.

It was a huge ferris wheel last year but this is something different.

And the husband was taking some time to pay for the bath jelly and bubble bar. Apparently he was given the face and body mask. Woah that’s a first! 🎁
