a lOvELy suRpriSe

It was barely 845am when I received a call and heard a Nyonya's voice on the other line. She asked for my address and that she was from a courier service. When I asked her for what items to be sent cos I dun rem any courier services under my name, she refused to tell and only mentioned again that she was to do a courier transfer. Yelah tu. My 1st thought was that a Prof shoud've used my name wout telling me. However, after that phone call, suddenly had this fluffy feeling.
Me and babe went up to submit some things then stumbled upon Kenit. She said that there was someone looking for me at the office. Of course it must be a student but she said not. Okla. Wateva. That can always wait. When I reached down, Uncle Bob was there and asked me to go into next lab as if there's a huge secret he gona inform me. hee. But then he suddenly took out a super red bouquet of roses. woah! I kancheongly opened the card and was thnking whichever guy la knows my office address except for students. Then when I read the card, was so surprised to see her name. Yup. It's from a student indeed. But a female. hee. 12 red roses? wow. even fiance hasn't break that record despite the pink rose, blue rose, sunflower and forget-me-nots.
Frankly, I didn't do much to help her seriously. I would say she has helped herself all these years. I didn' take the exams for her nor attend the classes. All I did was assisting her in her registration well since she got a few hiccups here and there. But getting this kinda reward is so indescribable. Being appreciated for what I've done altho it was not that much of a help.
I feel that I shd be on the emo side of this scenario but then again, I found myself smiling and giggling alone. Because never I felt this appreciated before.
So tell me how do I hate my job?? hee. :D
To complete the lovely Wednesday, met up with fiance for a brief dinner and saw the moon smiling back at me while walking home.
It'd be hours left before I'm off to down under. But I'd be home before you know it.
So long sunny island! G'day MATE! :D
u'll be missed..............

All in a Weekend

Yesterday, did not plan anything much just to fetch fiance from his Maju Camp. And I kiddingly sms Songe that I'd be coming over to his place since Maju is so near his place. Easily he was taken in and insisted in me confirming if I am really going down. Luckily, 154 came in the nick of time at Clementi and I alighted at the fourth bus stop as instructed by him. As usual, he's not there yet then he called and I saw him with face so gopek (never bath lor) and hair like so springy as King Koil. heehee! Thats was probably the 1st time I saw his virgin hair wout any gel or wax or wateva chemical. He proudly cycled across the road and got down the bicycle and walked with me. Kinda sweet loh in the evening walking his bicycle by the road and the forests. ppfffrrrttt! Then he sent me to the Maju camp bus stop. Foolly (hee), I waited for fiance to appear. But dozens and dozens of other guys started coming out except him. I even saw my training partner and my bro's fren. Woah! So many guys unfit lor. haiz.

Fiance only appeared at 6.30pm and I was already finished feeding the bloody mozzies. Still sheepishly act innocent somemore.urgh! We took 75 then changed to 67 to reach Lot 1. While lining up to make our LJS order, the corner of my eye caught a lady at the next counter. Somehow, I just turned and saw BFF there! Listening attentively at the counter lady repeating her order. As always. hehe! So we sat down and catch up a bit.

Started Sunday early as usual to drive mom to Gombak market. Then cleared her other cabinet with another thrash bag down the chute. In the late afternoon, bro mati-mati wanna bring us to Expo for the Crocs sale. I was hesitating to go cos I just bought mom and me a pair and why would i wana get another. But still went ahead to see how it was like. It was horrible. hee. There's this portion where cartons were used for those who changed their mind on their choices, people just literally digging them up like vultures feeding on dead living things. Yikes! We're so like animals. hee. In the end I only got myself jibbitz (ten of them mind u!) and only sis bot two pairs since she could fit children's sizes. Even dad did not manage to grab any. poor dad! Will get him a pair next mth. And here's mom's malindi. So now she doesnt have to share my jibbitz. hee

Should I take the offer of jogging every Sat?? urmmmm....very tempting lei. haha.
Three FREAKING days to go! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Countdowns

This week has been rather quick for me as the training took up two days and I began werk only on Midweek. They've got their results already and now we have to gear up for the new Acad year altho it only begins in Aug.

Babe followed me to Lot 1 and we checked out the newly opened Cotton On Body. How cool finally Lot 1 has something in which other heartland malls lack! With addition to that, there's two new outlets Levi's and D&C. Hence, with the addition of great shops, it does add colors and meaning to my every visit. hee. Babe and I made our rounds in Cotton On first and I grabbed a skirt while she filled her hands with two tops. We moved on to Cotton On Body and was surrounded with colorful inner wear. hee. And good news la Babe! Just today I checked the shop and they're having sale!!! I mean bras going at 5 bucks?!? It's darn cheap! Since I went with mom and wout my wallet watsoever, I managed to curb myself from spending. I'm saving it all for tmr when I'd be going down with sis to change our $$ to aussie dollars. Yeah! And I'm thinking of making my way to Tamp 1 again for Uniqlo but then again, let's just date that out till the next pay.

This coming week shall be a short werking week for me since I'd be flying off to Perth on Thur noon. Although the flu has reached Melb and Sydney, bet sis will still go ahead with the trip since she paid 960 for the airfare. Even though it's not a real holiday with hotels (we'd be putting up at sis' fren's place) and great tours, I do look forward to it for the aircon environment. After the trip, my energy and focus will be on the big event which will be less than 10mths. Still far right? It's less than a yr but we still nid to go thru the BFF's wedding, sis' besties' weddings, fasting mth, Hari Raya, Countdown to the 2010, etc. Hence, I conclude that it's still far. hee.

The other time we had lunch at Cant 2 and ended our brief lunch with waffles! Choc of course despite the throat not in gd condition. It's more yummy than usual and upon reaching the bus stop, choc dripped to my thin top. urgh! So changed my top to school's T and dry the cleansed T in the washing machine. I din even know that there's a washing machine in our sch. Cool!

Just got words from TDD that she has to queue before entering the Crocs Expo sale. Thankfully i din go down and talking abt Crocs, I've got Mom her pair in brown. She so sayang it that she din wana wear it out yet but instead wear them in the house. haiz...I havent got her the jibbitz and so gave up my other flower jibbitz and insert it into her pair.

Four days to go.....

Evil Sisters

Yesterday went to watch Demons and Angels at Vivo at a cheaper rates thanks to Songe. Not before we 'attacked' mom's dressing drawers. We managed to clear her two drawers and two mini cupboards with three bags full of thrash. Gross! 90% of her massage oil has expired and there were dozens of super loose socks. haiz. She's so concerned about our room's tidiness yet ignored her own. But dad was kinda frustrated that we threw his more than 20 years comb altho we never see him use it before. hee.
Anyways, Demons and Angels I thot would be confusing and mind challenging like Da Vinci Code but I guess it's different. I guess those CSI nights did help a bit. And moral of the story, the least suspected guy will always be the culprit/ villain.

After the movie, I intended to get myself a new black capri since the current one has turned grey. But we went to see Crocs first and I bought my first ever pair. I would say it's not so bulky or fugly. Ok, I confessed. The berry shade melts me. Against sis' shaking her head and shaking her lil frail finger, I asked for a new pair. And so here it goes. My first Crocs.

Mom tried it on and now she wants one too. :D

Then we went to get my pants and lucky me, there was a sale and I got it at only $35. YeH! We moved on to searching for the Canon cam and after much comparison, sis bot the Canon Ixus 100 at $469 in a splashing red shade. Finally managed to persuade her to get a new one in order to replace the 5mp Lumix.

Sleek! Can't wait to snap pics with it!

And today I went to the first of the 2-day training anxiously. Was one of the early birds and so I grabbed a cosy corner. The aircon was blasting strong and I had to endure with it since I did not bring along any jackets. However, contrary to what most people might have think, the training was quite time-passing and we had two tea breaks! Furthermore, my fren's fren happened to get the lucky seat next to me for coming in late. hee. And it was so strange when I saw one of my fallen hair over at his desk. I wanted to desperately removed it away especially when he's not seeing but had no chance to. In the end, he picked it up and flicked it off. Thankfully, I managed to contain my giggles. Looking forward to another day of class.

HAPPENings

Aaaaahh! What a feeling! When you've got most of the things done and all you want is to reward yourself. hee. Finally most of the events are over and I'm kinda looking forward to the trip at the end of the mth. For a good break. Perhaps a final one before more serious things will come my way.

On Thur, sis came home ultra excited. She showed dad an article from Lianhe Zhaobao with a pic of her. It was a pic from their pharmacist pledge nite and she was mentioned by her 'students' during their preceptorship. Dad could only commented "nang boo ti nang kueh bo ti kueh'. haha

And did I mention that I was so surprised cos someone got me three different cute files! The one who did not want to let me know his Sat's plans just cos of this super tiny matter. hmph! And I know his game which is the more I wanna know, the more he'll not tell me. So I rather forget about it. And he tot I didn't like the files just cos my face was blank as I did not know how to react at that moment. U've got me there!

And YES! the open house was done with and it's pretty short and simple with it being held in the afternoon instead this yr. Phew! Snapped a few pics but the Profs just can't have me in their lab tours cos they'll be ermm distracted. They will tend to turn to me and made the whole group shift their attention to me in a sec. Haiz.

After the freshies were off, I took the chance to make my way too. Met up with mom and Sally for a brief dinner but then fiance joined us soon after. How nice to have all my loved ones having dinner with me and I hope there'll more like this in the future. :P Fiance in his perspiration-soaked singlet, mom with the after massage look and Sally with her bride-to-be glow.

MoM'S BdAy

Yes. We've just celebrated Mom's Day last Sunday but my mom has always the advantage of double celebration cos of her Bday. Since we already went out for family dinner, sis bought her a cake from 717 Trading yesterday. It looked pretty but tasted the opposite. The cake felt bread-y in your mouth and instead of choc or blueberry/ stroberi jam, red bean paste was spread in between the layers. Yikes! We had to have the cake-cutting last night cos sis will be coming home late today. I've passed mom her Estee Lauder set last night as well.

And so today being her actual hatch day, I've decided to grab her a stalk of Sunflower and a cheapo wallet (since she's been complaining of the wallet that I've given her recently). It'd be sad if she receive nothing on her real bday. But instead of thanking me profusely, she nagged at me for wasting money on her gifts.

Only lately I realised that mom is 30years older than me which means that she gave birth to me when she's nearing 30. She do really plan her family well. hee. Bro and sis 4 years diff while me and sis 3. So now it's easier for me to remember the year she's born.

Oh well just hope that she'll stay healthy and strong. :D

Mom'S DaY

I was lazing around basically the whole day yesterday. I napped slightly after 12 but woken up by the Kompang downstairs. Suddenly, I felt nervous. hee

Waited and killing time till about 6pm so that we could fetch the sis and have our MoM's Day dinner. Thot of going to Banana Leaf Apollo but then again, it was not halal. So settled for Shakuntala's instead. Woah when you just opened the door, the smell of curry was so significant sia. We had to wait for about 15mins before being able to get a table.

Ordered Tandoori Platter ($24) and Fish Head Curry (altho initially everyone disagreed until bro insisted that we came all the way there and not having a bowl would be meaningless) and a few Naans. Their fruity ice blended costed a whopping 5 bucks each and our total bill came up to $80.75.

Headed home with a full stomach. Mom got her Toscano bag already and the other presie will only be on Wednesday itself. :)

Yes, I looked the odd one out!

The 2 men who ordered plain rice and asked for replenishment but then could not finish them. haizz

Our ice blended, Soursop - Sweetcorn - Kiwi!

The Darndest Thing

Suddenly, I have this strong craving for Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Been longing to enjoy an ice cream either from Haagen Daz or Ben & Jerry's since the dentist date. Today being a Monday, lotsa work piled up and to be done, I had an aim to go straight to NTUC right after work. Grabbed a pint of Ben & Jerry's and walked home. Immediately took a spoon and scooped the top of the Fudge ice cream upon mom's stare. Aaaaaaaaahh. What a way to end the blues on a Monday!

Next, I just wanna browse thru the two mags I bot yesterday at JB. Msian Cosmopolitan and InTrend. :) Ok just caught dad flipping thru the Cosmo mag. Sheesh.

Long Weekend Indeed

Nothing feels much contented like missions accomplished. On Fri, we went out only after 2 in the afternoon but we managed to get things done quite a bit. Before Wolverine, we had a quickie lunch at LJS then headed to Sanrio to grab the Kitty file. :) Then up to the cinema for the movie. Every cinema will have different types of audience I must say. For example at PS, there's a lot of friends groupies especially NS guys since they came in big groups and with crew cuts. A couple of ladies actually asked me for my ticket seat number and blurly I asked fiance to show. I should've known better since I was the one who did the booking but when I was about to tell the ladies off, they quickly apologised and moved on to find their seats on the other side. I just dun understand why some people never bother to check the numbering on the tickets and the layout just at the entrance. They would rather disturb others just to find out where their seats are. haizzz. fools.

I wanted to go to Tangs to grab Mom's presents but instead of making a draggy journey to town, I suggested we went to Vivo instead. Expectedly, it's less crowded in Tangs Vivo and I bought mom her Toscano bag as well as Estee Lauder's Pleasure set. The lady was pretty friendly but she did not give me the lip gloss which I should get with every fragrance set purchase. Sad.

We bought Buster cheesekek, large double choc ice blended and a cookie from the unfriendly staff at Coffee Bean. They did not even provide us with a plastic fork for our cheesekek although we ordered takeaway...sheeesh. Went to roof top of vivo and finished our calorie-infested munchies. Took the draggy 188 home. Surprisingly when I reached home, there was no one. Few secs later, the family got home from Sheng Siong.
Was lazing almost the whole day on Saturday but he called quite early in the morn saying that he'll be coming over. Woah! Donno what got into him, he even mentioned of getting me the $1.80 chicken rice from Clementi. heee. So waited patiently for him to come but he only came at 8pm. After finishing the rice, he installed a software into my lappie. That took close to two hours and the whole two hours we were like chatting in my room, just the two of us. It's not always that we 'talk' like this. About 5 after 10, bro called to go down and picked up some stuff. So dragged fiance down to help and we came up with bags of groceries. Thankfully, the uploading was completed close to 1030 and he packed up to head home. Mom gave him Papaya, garlics and a few mangoes to bring home. haha. Just like coming home from Kampung sia. Bro wanted to send him home so I just accompanied him. He reached home almost 1115pm. What a long Saturday for me!
We were supposed to start early today but woke up only at 8am while promised to fetch dad at 830am at Kranji. We reached 9am there and dear mom just had to ask this qn to him,
"Have you been waiting long?"
Bro interrupted by scolding mom. :)

Upon reaching S'pore check point, the guy showed my sis foto and mom nodded her head at him. Then when he showed my foto dad has to acknowledge him by raising his hand. Gosh! What's the problem with us?! hehe.

We managed to cover Angsana, Kip Mart and Jakel. Don't wish to go back there anytime soon but perhaps to head down to Jusco instead. Since we missed it today. And to my surprise, we were at Hema's counter when we returned from JB!! Was so happy to see her after close to 3 years of not meeting her. She was shrieking and so was I. Even her colleague next door asked what happened. hehe. It's good to know that she's taking her diploma at TP rather than be stucked at the island. :)

Stumbled upon cher-mong there. So manja this one!

Oh Mr Artist Popular. Ur so yesterday lah!

Had lunch on the swing at Marrybrown. :)

My Barley drink mug for breakfast.

Since we reach home quite early and dad having his rare off day, I drove them to Expo for the Metro sale. I still wish that our island have those premium outlet somewhere instead of building another mall. Sis spent over $100 there on undies, bedsheet (PPG and Wall-E to be exact), a blouse and two pillows. All for herself. Then we had Mee soto and Ice Kacang for dinner.

Another long weekend awaits.... :)
