JB trip with the BFFs

Yay to the 1st daytrip with the primary school best friends. Just to Paradigm mall but it took almost the whole day. So happy that we reached home safely with the adventurous Wak Uncha ride with 3 other strangers. Alhamdulillah they’re all multi-racial SGans.
I was the last girl to alight but felt safe still cos already at SG.
Photos!

Was my 1st time taking the 5min train ride over the causeway.
It was a breeze indeed only thing was we reached rather early.

Definitely worth the $5!
But it was so hard to buy the tics online cos they’re sold out real fast!

A wefie while waiting for our Grab to Paradigm.
Only RM14.

Fafa’s, mine and Lin’s.
So heavy that’s why we decided to grab the Wak instead.

My loot for today!
7 tops for me and 4 shorts for the boy.
Oops and 15 face masks as well. 😍

Aunty Fafa bought this for the boy for his advanced birthday gift.
Loves how cool it look but it’s just KikiLala.

Bought the husband this cute Famous Amos bear with cookies.
He didn’t say a word but I knew he loved it cos he uploaded it immediately. 😝
Thank you for allowing me to go for this trip.

Yummylicious Friday

Omoomodon

The husband only decided later part of the day to have dinner outside. Hesitated cos not sure what time he’s going to end and that the boy’s gonna be slpy after his school. When we met, he mentioned about a halal Korean place so we had our early dinner there. It was my 2nd time, the 1st was with sis. I remembered the foods a little pricey and yeap it was.
$40 for 3 sets of meals. Ordered on your own together with the payment.
You only get to interact with the staff when you collect your order.

His Ji-Ji Don made up of onsen egg lei.
With soy chicken.

The boy’s teriyaki chicken bowl with karaage on the sides.

My ramen with bulgogi chicken in spicy kimchi broth.

This has got to be one of the yummiest takoyaki because not too thick and the inside was warm while the outside was not.
And the sauces just perfect.
But I kinda missed the ones at kilang bateri. 😬

Racial Harmony and Sports Day

Just like that the weekend’s almost over. Supposedly a long wkend cos the boy skipped sch for the appt on Friday. A brief appt. Saturday was a pretty long day which began right after Subuh. The boy had his first ever Racial Harmony and Sports Day.
The games organised were quite fun and very culturally planned.
We were all divided into groups to play different games.
We got the one which required the boy to put on kain pelikat and songkok, dragged on a long dried coconut leaf and chapteh to kick.
His both non-malay teachers were so sweet to be donning baju kurung.
Planned to include the pictures taken for their Teacher’s Day gift.

The first game.
Luckily all the games were held in the school hall.
After the event, we went straight to Mom’s and me and husband got to cabut for a short date when the boy had his nap. Finally used my H&M gift card for a pair of skinny jeans and a boyfriend’s tunic shirt.

It’s a lazy Sunday after a heavy breakfast of Mee Soto.
Lazed around and only went out for dinner and library.
The son’s favourite section, watching and listening to stories.
Long week ahead and I’m already looking forward to the next weekend!😍

What’s wrong with me?

Today has got to be the oddest day. Dad decided to go back early so I planned to return the library books. After sending the boy, dropped by the library.
Dropped the books one by one into the hole and realised one of them doesn’t make a sound. Thinking to myself there might be a mistake in the scanner, went to grab my lunch and headed home.

After brief lunch, decided to verify with the husband on the no. of books borrowed and told him that 1 book about Space didn’t beeped!
He coolly replied that it was the book bought at the airport.
😳 I remembered it was quite pricey and I should try to get it back (before the boy asks for it). Was about to chill and start watching my K dramas but had to quickly change and rushed back to the library.

Thankfully I was chatting with the bff in watsapp so I could check on the time of return.
When I reached, looked around for the librarians but alamak not even 1 to be seen.
Asked the auntie keeper for help and she just knocked on the glass door of the books return room. 😳 When the librarian saw us, she pointed to the other side to meet.
Alhamdulillah she has kept the book aside for me.
Kept thanking her and she was like ‘no worries..’ 🤗

Done with that and feeling contented, I decided to grab maki-san for lunch.
After making the order, saw that the bus wld arrive in 5mins.
Praying hard that I could catch it while the girl prepared my order.
Was waiting for my queue number to be called when suddenly the guy said,
Salmon says! instead.
Frowned and quickly grabbed it and made my way to the bus stop.
Only to realise that there was no soy sauce.
Oklah since there’s already wasabi inside the sushi.

Appreciating my precious me time with my cute emoji speaker. Heh. 😂
It didn’t stop there you see.
I was about to cook rice when I couldn’t press the button on the cooker.
Even changed sockets but still failed.
Told the husband and worried that he might scold as the cooker was less than a year old.
When I realised that all buttons couldn’t work, there must be something not right with plug or wire. True enough, it was a bit loose so I plugged it in again.
Tsk. Can’t believe that I panicked and even transferred the washed rice before figuring the fault out. 🤦‍♀️ May tomorrow be a better day. Insha Allah.

IKEA

Ikea used to be my favourite window shopping place. But since Kaison with its outrageous pricing across the Causeway, dah tak pandang Ikea sangat dah.

Wanted to get a simple tray-like bedside table then we saw this.
It’s cute because the handle allows you to carry and transfer the table to wherever you want within the house. Red is a bit striking (husband chose it over black) and I just saw a natural wood with white legs version online.

Can’t wait for the girls trip to JB soon! 😍

Long Sunday

Yes! Such a long Sunday indeed. Started with the routined marketing. Then received a phonecall of guests coming although we have planned for an Ikea trip. So cooked lunch and pasta goreng. Bro came along too with Murtabak and some kuih2. Had a good time late lunching with the family and sharing a bottle of Sparkling Juice.

So Ikea trip was delayed to the evening.
Bro bought us all ice-cream.

And fish and chips.

And 15 meatballs.
Bought a bedside table from Ikea.
Will share once it’s been fixed.

Loving my Jamoji speaker.
Really helped me when I’m doing my chores such as ironing the bundles of clothes.
Going to be a long week ahead with Sports Day on saturday.
Can’t wait for precious me time on weekdays.

King of fruits

According to news, there’s an oversupply of durians. Hence, people nowadays have to queue to buy durians. Not really a big fan of the king of fruits but just wanna have them now.

$158 worth of durians. It’s like I don’t have to eat them for the next few years.

Official closing of Syawal 2018

Alhamdulillah we have completed visitings to the elders and today, with the students all 31 of them boys coming over for Raya, we have officially closed Syawal. Although our house is cosy, we always manage to squeeze more than 30 of them annually.

Part of the 31 pairs of shoes.

As usual, their 1st visit’s menu will be Crave Nasi Lemak.
Prepared Roti John for them too.
May Allah bless them and ease their education journey.

3D2N Staycation at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

The staycation plan was rather last minute because realised that Youth Day’s a school holiday for the kid and husband could take leave. After eleminating other staycation choices, Crowne Plaza’s our choice for the huge bathtub and dining options. Thankfully too that they included an extra bed without additional charges so that sis could join us for a night. Even though it’s just the airport, we walked a lot and conquered all terminals so I’m feeling the exhaustion now. The boy had pretty bad cough so his sleep was interrupted so were ours. But I’m sure he’s enjoyed the bubble bath and went home happy with his new loot of toys and activity sets.

Loves the pool ambience overlooking the tower and those trees! 😍

This bubble bar was so bubbly and pink!
The boy loves all the foam filling up the tub.

We got a bath bomb for him too and this pretty one called the Experimenter actually produced greenish sparkly result.

This was just half of the bubble bar used.
Imagine if we had used the whole bar!

Bro and SIL dropped by from Changi Village and brought us Epok2, Spring Rolls, Roti Boyan and even these strawberry cheese tarts!

Found these melon milk at NTUC at an offer!

Thank You husband for getting me this cute emoji speaker!
He chose this instead of the kiss cos this had a smiley.

Wanted to redeem the Elmo storage box but husband gotten me the whole collection instead! 😍😍😍
