What went wrong?

I've mentioned abt the recent happenings that took place and that I cldn't take in all just yet. But things seems to be not getting any better hah. More things just had to happen. Great! I'm supposed to be feeling all re-energised aft the down under trip but I'm feeling far from being at peace instead. Damn. But I know it won't be for long and that everything will be just as fine as before. So for now, I'm just gonna take everything in my stride and learn things the hard way.

I spent the Sat lazing ard at home and cldn't slp early. Cld doze off only after 1am. So woke up on Sunday with a bad headache. The JB trip on Sunday was only confirmed on the day itself and instead of the usual early morn drive across the causeway, we were at the bridge after 12 noon only. Thankfully, it wasn't that sunny. 1st stop was Angsana to settle bro's stuff and we had KFC for lunch! Wout the cheese wedges sadly. After that bro drove us to another loc which I duno where but nearby and made us have Chendol under a huge tree. The hawker was really holding his Chendol bisnes from his lorry and a Chendol costs only RM1.50. :) Opposite the Chendol lorry was an uncle selling curry puffs. He filled the puffs there and then and I must say they tasted yummy! It's such a kampong feeling. And nope. I didn't donate a single drop of blood to the mozzies surprisingly.

Sis took a snap of me and dad.
See how engross dad was in his Chendol pulut.
What a weird combo!
And look at where my feet were.
Wldnt wanna imagine wats crawling on the grd among the dry leaves. hee.

Dad insisted for sis to order ABC.
Air Batu Campur and it tasted weird.
Still prefer our Ice Kacang.

This is my Chendol with corn.
But the corn's hidden at the bottom.
It was YUMMY!

Family Affairs

We went to Kintamani for Mom's belated bday dinner on Vesak Day. We were full too early but got to taste almost all of the spread. hee. It was our first luxury family dinner. But before that we spent some time at Robinsons Expo sale. To our dismay, the brands they offered now sucks big time. There used to be FCUK, Island shop and stuff. So we ended up buying nothing. hee. Well at least can look forward to GSS instead!

The traditional kueh2 spread. Loves the colors!
And the banana fritters supposed to dip in choc sos!

My fave noodle of all time.
Mee soto. This the indon version which I thot it tasted a lill too sweet.

Mom and sis.

And my fruits platter.

Down Under - Sydney (25th April till 1st May 2011)

It was rather an impromptu trip altho plans were made like a yr or two ago or so. Suddenly sis instructed me to take leave so that we cld go see her fren down under. So she booked the flight alr and of cos sponsored me for it else I dread to accompany her. Seriously. Hee. For the first time, we took a hybrid flight with BA to Sydney and Qantas upon return. The fd wasn't that bad with BA serving us Mutton Briyani and Qantas feeding us with hot choc and ice cream!

Day 1
Anyways, we took the night flight and I slept for a gd 2hrs at least. I rarely sleep in flights. Reached Sydney and took a cab to the Service Apt. The cab didn't drop us exactly there so we had to walk in the cold and it drizzled too. After dumping our luggages at the lobby, we walked to have our 1st bf. It was a WALK indeed. Took the straight road up and down the slopes and turned into the wrong street. Hee. And to make matters worst, we havent shower and there was a heavy downpour. Had to buy a brolly along the way. The bf was worth it tho! A hearty one. Aft that we walked back to Paddy's mkt which was very like Bugis Village. Grabbed some souvenirs and had a cosy Jap lunch by the street. Went back to the apt to have a bath and we walked our way to Harbourside. Dinner was at Uighur Cuisine, Mongolian food. Very meaty and filling. Walked back and had Ice cream from Passionflower.

Day 2
Had a gd nite slp and felt all energised. Took the light rail (looks like tram from road to train tracks) to Rozwell. Had to walk (again!) to Balmain up and down the slopes again to reach bf destination, Kazbah. Middle eastern food! Aft bf, we took the light rail and changed to Monorail to go into the city for some shopping! Imagine having monorail in Orchard rd. Yeap. Something like that. Dinner was Jap at Makoto. Very near our apt in fact abt 5mins walking only. Then we walked to Circular Quay for the night view of Sydney bridge and Opera House. Stopped by Max Brenner for dessert.Yummy!

Day 3
Started early cos we catching a 2hr train (think KTM) to Katoomba for Blue Mts. It's like a sub urban area of Sydney. Blue Mts was freezingly cold! I was smoking as I talked. hee. So jakun eh. Took the skyway - freaky becos cldnt see anything as it was covered by mist but I cld hear the waterfalls, rail down the steep slope - was SO FUN but over too quickly and the cable way - back to the top of the mts. The mist cleared and the THREE SISTERS showed themselves proudly. Took the 2hr train ride back to Sydney central and took a cab to Mixing Pot - Pasta with black sotong.

Day 4
Went to Newtown to have Black Pastry for bf then we went to DFO (direct factory outlets). Grabbed a few clothes and took a cab to Fish Mkt for lunch. Had a huge seafood platter by the docks. Took train and changed to bus to get to the famous Bondi beach. Wasn't crowded cos it was pretty cold for a swim. Aft that we squeezed in a movie, Paul, which we paid $18 each. Then we still walked to Circular Quay to have Pancakes on the Rocks!

Day 5

Took the ferry heading to Taronga Zoo. A zoo with a view! Not as vibrant as our zoo thou but they had cable cars there. After zoo we changed ferry and went to Manly. Had Indian dinner at Kammadhenu back at Newtown.

Day 6
Final day and we're flying off at late noon. Sis made me walked over 5km just to get her limited edition Crumpler. Limited edition becos they sew the bag right there in the shop. Grabbed mom a teapot as well.

Enjoy the pics below. It was quite challenging to select a few out of the 500+ pics we snapped.

Everlasting ♥

It was a lazy Sunday with Mom besides the wedding of my sec sch gf
(we used to go out Raya every yr).

After close to a decade of courtship, they finally tied the knot. ♥
And I managed to catch a glimpse of the husband (he's a funny man, really) as well. :)

Her simple yet so PRETTY wedding cake plus their portrait at the back.
Picture perfect indeed. :)

The gorgeous bride with us!
Alhamdulillah. A new chapter begins. ♥

Coming up next, the Sydney trip update. Finally.

Nothing burns like an old flame

Nah. Nothing to do with the past.
But just a catchy quote I learnt today. :)

The week seems so long somehow.
Or I must have confused myself.
Mom's bday fell on a Friday the 13th.
A rather significant date for me.

Anyhows, we surprised her with a Yam cake layered with light cheese cream
and her 1st presie on Thurs instead!

She commented that her cake looked mountainous
(so u know where I got my exaggeration genes from). I love the wordings tho! :)

Mom insisted in snapping her pic with her presie so here goes.
Sis and I in our PJs. tSk.
By the way it's her fave crocs in that bag.

I was supposed to bring the cousin to Mustafa after work.
So I had to rush over to Hougang on Fri.
She planned to buy perfumes but we ended up with a dvd spree!
My first time in fact buying dvds there.

2 alam, Raped by Syaitan and the Ex (thus the quote).
We managed to catch 2 alam and the Ex today.
The Ex was funny and 2 alam was........
It's so so difficult to have a really gd Malay movie.
I appreciate the intention of the movie in seeking others to repent but I guess the storyline wasn't that attractive at all.
I shall save the Indon movie for another day. hee.

I brought the cousin to RWS today and I bot my VS hand cream.
The gift packs there are all irresistable but I kept telling myself I don't need any.
BUT I bot quite a few chocs! hee.
And Gloria (the hippo!) keychain!

We dropped by Vivo to have our late lunch at Seoul Gdn hotpot.
And I grabbed a Maxi dress from Uniqlo at below $30!
Sis wished me luck in wearing it and passing off as preggie. =_="

Stories to be told..

What a weekend! Alot of happenings and the weather just made me even more restless. I thot I'm gonna have a lazy and chill Polling Day but I was so wrong. Bro had to drag me to the mkt. Not only to Gombak but to Jwest as well. Altho it wasn't that packed but we had a few pit stops. For the first time ever, I (he) bot stingray. We dun eat it at home cos dad just dun favor it. So mom nvr buy one. So got the stingray, veg, onion, chilli and lemon grass from Gombak. As the sotong was pricey at $12 per kilo, told him to check out Jwest instead. So he drove over. Got them at $9 per kilo at smaller sizes tho. But more worth it I guess. Hee. Then he fetched sis from JP and we stopped by SS before heading home. That's not it! Got home, freshened up and cast the vote.

Afterall done, changed and had lunch at Lot 1. Took train to Vivo to grab a few presies. Cldn't take it and grabbed a cab home cos Sis and I were exhausted. Once reached home, mom told us to grab lozenges so we went to Lot 1 again. THIS IS IT! As I was trying to retrieve my atm kad from my wallet, I just cldn't find it!!! Damn! Just cldnt believe my eyes and kept searching for it. I rarely use my atm cos of of Debit card but today I had to use it and this had to happen. Recalled the last transaction at Mango and called the operator to connect to the outlet.Thank God it was there but we're alr back at CCK. URGH! Took a cab to Vivo and collected the atm kad. So u wana know how it happened? I was served by Pinays. Two of them at the Cashier. Told them to separate my purchases and she diligently wrapped them in separate tissues. Afterwhich she passed me my receipt. And I didn't realise that my atm kad wasn't returned! Probably the ONLY day that I took cab 3X in a day. What a SAT!

Sunday started early for me. Woke up abt 530+am. Cldn't return to slp and showered! Cos mtg Mr Gee at 730am. We were both early and met at 715 instead. Appt was at 915 so we had bf first. Yeap. We made our HUGE purchase today. History in the making hah? Gulps. We had dragonflies in our tummy. Then we had a marathon under my pink brolly. ;)

Returned home and lunched. Fell aslp while watching Princess. Dun even know what it was all about. But woke up perspiring. Tsk! In the evening accompanied Obek to Hougang and dragged mom to Komalas for dinner. It was freaky the Bangla crowd outside Mustafa. We rushed home aft dinner.

And today being Mother's Day I thot I shd share this. My sis threw her old NIKE wallet and after that realised it still contained her $100. Mom waited for the Bangla to come by the chute and she seeked his assistance. She managed to get the wallet back. And the $100. The things Moms wld do for her children. 0_0

I hope the coming week wont be as scary as this week.... =_="

Did you know?

I felt that I was the happiest girl on Earth when the rainbow
decided to come around at Bondi Beach.
