Nine days

Gearing up the raya preparation but in actual fact I just baked my first cookies for this year.
And I don’t know why but the batches were far from perfect.
Bought quite a number of cookies already lah and settled all the in-laws’ too.
So now I’m all ON for the house deco instead!

The husband decided to change all our rooms’ curtains to Blinds!
Yay! The rooms all looked a lot spacious now. And more importantly no more removing and washing and drying and folding of curtains!

Lights up! And the boy had to ask why our lights not lap lip!
The lap lip we got from Geylang lasted for just a year. 😂
Still a lot of laundry to be done especially the cushion covers. Oh dear.

That annual trip to Geylang Serai

This year was a first that the kid’s firmly decided not to tag along our annual trip to Geylang. Thankfully the sis could come over and babysit the boy.

Pretty lights although the colours always seems the same every year.
Would say more organized this year but the crowd’s still there especially later in the night.
Saw that they have proper food area for the stalls and seats.
And also saw that there’s benches for the shoppers to rest along the stalls.

Since the boy didn’t come along, we took this picture for him.
He kirim songkok la seh and we got airy one ($12) for him from a Chinese Muslim stall. And I cannot believe that we spent a total of $120 on Hari Raya goodies. 😳

Raya preps

Honestly, we only have 1 malay shop that sells quite a variety of food stuff from raw meat, spices and cooked food for Raya. Remembered clearly last year that I had to make 2 trips to the market because their ketupat and serunding only came at a later timing.
So this year I had to ask around for opportunities to help me buy serunding way in advanced so that I need not make double trips to the market.
And yasssssssss! The best friend said she’s going Angsana and she managed to get for me! Not any ordinary serunding but serunding daging!
Alhamdulillah but she naughty la don’t want my money.

So we met and bought foodstuff from Woodlands Bazaar.
Without realising, I had:
1. 2 packets of Nasi Ambeng
2. 3 glass canisters from Metro
3. 2 cups of Cendol
4. 3 bottles of Katirah
5. 2 bottles of Kuih Raya!

That’s a total of 12 items and mind you, the nasi ambeng packets consisted of many2 smaller packets. Only realised that I had bought a lot when the best friend sent me to the cab. Although she herself carrying quite a number of stuff.
And today coincidentally was twinning with her! She’s wearing the same top we bought together at JB. Haha. Like budak2 you know wear the same clothes.
Last time I was wearing the same casual shoes with my other best friend.

Hmm so what else do I need to get?!?!?
- Kuih for the in-laws
Ermmm that’s about it! Let’s see if we still make it to annual Geylang trip.

Annual Iftar with in-laws

Yay Alhamdulillah. Sis-in-law msg me last week to go over for iftar gathering this long weekend. She cooked Nasi Ayam, another SIL brought Mee Goreng and I made Roti John.
Here’s the Spread!

Check out those mini Ondeh-ondeh!
Thankfully she packed some home for me! ❤️

Mee Goreng and Roti John here.
SIL made nice longan drink and even served mangoes!
Got Ice Cream Potong too lah.
Despite being thankful for the spread of food, I am so grateful for this gathering.
It’s only in Ramadhan we could sit down and have a meal together.
My heart’s full.

The other SIL gave me chips and Teh Tarik!
Yes Alhamdulillah after marriage I instantly have 4 new sisters and 4 brothers.
So now I have a total of 6 sisters and 6 brothers. So many! 🥰

Mother’s Day

What the son did in school.
As he talked a lot more this year, he told me in advance what he did in school for me.

His handwriting. I still remember that I had handwriting books in Primary School.

How I looked like to him every single day.
“Life doesn’t come with a manual, it comes with a mother.”

The husband got me this cake earlier this week.
Vanilla cake from Twelve Cupcakes.

And mom is really lucky to have a thoughtful son-in-law.
He chose the flowers and vase all by himself for his ‘bff’. 🥰

✔️ 💎 Jewel

Yay! We wanted to go Jewel since almost 2 weeks ago but the kid’s down with fever then me. So had to postpone and we made it today. Break fast was BK. Simple yet yummy. And woah. The vortex display. 😍 The kid had his first haircut at a salon too and his hair looked so proper now. Hope he’ll remember this moment. Having his first haircut at Jewel.
The stylist was meticulous and even gave him a lollipop at the end of the session.

Snapped by the husband.

This looks like from MBS only taller.

Glad that we managed to catch the show after break fast.

😍😍😍😍

No queue at Pokemon Centre too
Got the Made in Japan file!
The boy chose the Pilot Pikachu.

Hope Mom would like her presie this time. Which we bought earlier from TM.

Ramadan 2019

Alhamdulillah. We meet again Ramadhan. And Alhamdulillah. Today the fever didn’t return and I’m feeling a lot better. After having fever and feeling weak and unproductive since Tuesday. That’s almost 5 days of fever.
We had a little makan session for Mom’s advanced birthday.
Full Korean meal cooked by sis.

Bulgogi, Japchae, 2 pancakes, egg roll and the soup.

Mom’s strawberry cake. Gotta thank Mom and Dad for being here for me when I was down and needed help to run the family. Mom helped to send the kid to school and Dad bought us dinner. I’m so thankful.

Totally didn’t expect this coming but the husband placed it on the bed last Friday.
I dragged my sick self out to fetch the kid.

Advanced birthday meet-up

Been under the weather since Tuesday. Till my temp hit 39deg. Really hope I could better by tomorrow cos last weekend’s burnt and definitely not letting this last weekend before Ramadhan goes by just like that. Despite being not in top form, dragged myself to meet the best friend for her advanced birthday meet-up. Forgotten to take pic of the presents but hope they like the scarf bag, backpack and Jurassic World set.

Always insufficient time for a proper catch up but hope to meet her again soon.
Went to Tuk Tuk Cha and had this Shibuya toast.

She’s really happy cos she shared with me her ‘honeymoon’ getaway to Maldives with just the hubby. Escapade betul. Hehe. So sweet of her to get me souvenirs.
