June School Holidays

 

Activity 

• Dino Quest - quite impromptu and was surprised it’s almost exactly like the one we went in 2019 at Sci Ctr. The venue this time wasn’t exclusive but he enjoyed himself much.

• Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden - the last time we came it was closed! Clever of us cos didn’t check opening days. He was checking out every corner of the garden.

• Jurassic World Dominion - 1st ever movie. He didn’t like the idea of having to sit still in a dark place but his 1st movie had to be a 2hr 27min one. My body ached after that!

• National Library visit - Coincidentally brought him on the last day of operation before closing for a year for renovation. He was taken aback by how noisy the children’s section was but intrigued by the tree made of recycled bottles.

• Grand Park City Hall - quite random to book this hotel. Hmmm probably once was enough. But we did enjoy the pool briefly and the fruits!

• Toy carnival at Taka (pic not included) - Probably the first atrium sale in 2 years. He bought a huge dino egg that kept him busy for a very very long time.

• Palawan Beach - must make this a regular thing to go to the beach every school holiday just like how mom used to do for us.

• Jurassic Alive at West Mall - extra eh. Nak tgk dinos at of all places my sec sch haunt. Tsk. Every level of the mall lak tu.

• Conrad - back at our fave hotel. Da macam 2nd home eh. 

• Wonders of the World - another last min decision. I think he wanted snow city but it was already noon. So next time je la.

So thankful for the quality time spent amidst squeezing the activities within the husband’s ALs and weekends.

Here we go

 

This is so so pretty. And sunny. And hot eh.

When we reached, Dad wasn’t home. Really had the hunch that he went to grab some durians.

All 15kg of them! ❤️

Quite impromptu visit to the Lego Exhibition to end the June holidays. And we mummies motivating ourselves with the upcoming Youth Day and Raya break already. Plus NDP and PSLE oral breaks too! 

Can never imagine and appreciate enough the effort time and sweat in creating these wonders.

Guess it’s the passion!

Forever Friends

You know she’s your best friend when she bought a dino for your boy and kept it and then decided to Grab it over after 2 freaking years. And she of course remembered to get you ole2 from her trips too. And the last time I saw her was in 2019. 

Best friends since more than 25 years ago. Sudah la. The one that I knew inside out and can rely on anytime of the day. We could be chatting over crazy topics 2-3am when she jolly well knows that my bedtime has always been 1030 since sec sch days. Sayang this one alot. ❤️

Five

 4th stay at Conrad!

Glad service is still prompt as ever.

Upgraded to a higher floor but with the fountain view instead. Alhamdulillah managed to swim too despite the cloudy weather.

Missed the sunrise today cos tdo. I slept the earliest too the night before.

Pretty sight. Remembered how the areas around the fountain used to be a hanging out spot for teens.

Guess the cookies and dried fruits are a permanent room feature such as the bear and rubber duck.

A long sunday

 

A long but fruitful Father’s Day.

Started way early and managed to settle the painting of our corridor. Went to the mall filled with tonnes of memories during secondary school.

And the library still smells the same. I did not dare to enter else all the flashbacks come through. 

The same mall was also the place I first met the husband. Orbit eh first date at the neighbourhood mall. It was raining when we reached but the skies cleared up just in time for the boy to snap with his faves. Then we returned his 18 books, bought cousin his Bday balloon and went over. 

A simple celebration with satay, mom’s pasta soup and Ayam Kurma. 

Seven

 

Can’t believe only seven days left to school. Not ready for spelling and ejaan all over again. 

We had our staycay at Grand Park. This was our view hmmm not sure how to feel about the room. The hotel. We were so used to Conrad, MBS so this one had a lot to improve to be on par.

Mandatory WOC shot on the pretty unique side table.

Pool was fun but cut short due to rain.

Sempat cabut to Arab St for Zamzam, Konditori and Wardah! ❤️

Spent $42+ on Kondi breakfast while dinner was just $23. 😬

Received fruits upon returning to our room. Pleasantly surprised with that note too.

Went out early on Friday to town to have Poulet.

The son had to ketuk $54 egg which kept him busy for the rest of the day.

Planned to go to the beach quite last minute yesterday and it was a rather cloudy morning. But we went ahead. Quite sad to see most of the areas being fenced up due for upgrades and the rail ride was filled with construction sight. Tourists were back in full force though and glad that I managed to buy my favourite from Victoria Secrets. 1st time ever kena layan by a probably middle aged uncle eh. But he was helpful. 

A little bit of fun left for the boy before we cool down and prep ourselves again for the new term.

National Library

 

I couldn’t remember if it’s his 1st visit to National Library but he claimed it is. But I myself don’t remember how the children’s corner was like.

And kau. We have not been borrowing books since Covid so today we loaned 16 books using his card. But he’s done reading at least 2 of them. Planned to return them by this wkend. 📚 

And guess what? The library’s gonna undergo renovation for a year starting tomorrow. 

1st movie

 Jurassic World Dominion.

All of 2hr 27min. Peh lama ye. And the husband booked the morning slot at 10.10am. Tak pernah2 ye. Our last movie date was Jumanji in 2019.

It’s a surprise that he overcame his fears of darkness and having to sit for a very long time. Okla he went toilet break 2x during the movie. Although there’re more than 10 children in the cinema, it was rather peaceful cos I guess they’re very focused on the dinos. 

Glad that he enjoyed his 1st movie experience.

And also our 1st movie at Waterway.

Unexpectations

 

Such a busy day running errands for the sis. Thankfully, 2 jobs done early while the other hmmmm I left Dad to settle. Haha.

Sis called and bought us Subway for lunch. Alhamdulillah! It’s been ages since I last had them sandwiches. 

The best friend msg me and asked so many questions eh. Then when I finally reached home, saw ATD paperbag hung at the gate! 🥹 I’m so so touched. It didn’t come from the best friend but her sister. I cannot lah. How I grew close to my best friend’s sister and similarly grew close to my sister’s best friends. I am truly blessed.

Keep on Crocin’

 

I’m not sure why this time I’ve been wanting this Crocs so bad. Not this particular prints but decided to get this one cos on sale. Heh. Wanted the sparkly jibbitz but they came in sets and I didn’t want that many. So the husband chose this light-up one. He actually chosen a huge colourful light-up flower but we settled on this one. He’s so gonna start nagging on the pairs of shoes/sandals/slippers/sneakers I have. Geez. He then claimed that this shall be my belated Mother’s Day gift. Pandai eh! This month’s Father’s Day seh. The weekend’s been fun-filled and I’ll do a dump at end of the hols. 

Ramen

 

Glad that I met up with the bff for a ramen date yesterday to pass her bday gift, Swarozski infinity bracelet. Sometimes our meet up was so brief but thankful still. One of the few friends whom I treasure alot and so grateful for that I’m still blessed with best friends from pri sch, sec sch, poly and up to working life. ❤️ 

It’s funny how life works. You can definitely choose the people you would want to be part of your life with Allah’s will for sure. Then you would also realised but hey we’re not meant to be together so why still have to be in each other’s life? So I tried and tried to reflect and found that it’s probably Allah’s way to show you the reasons. How you are now closer to some people but not others. How we know it definitely won’t work because we’re so so different. If you’re happy where you are now, Alhamdulillah. No need to be bitter. (Banyaknye nak cakap tapi What good is a heart if you’re not gonna use it? 🤣)

No one can take those memories away. Good ones or the lessons learnt. All for us to keep in order for us to be where we are now.
