1 Syawal

 

Trying to update with my eyes 3/4 closed. And couldn’t stop yawning. But this was my eidfit today. The cheap cotton kebaya was comfy and cooling and I’ve decided to just use my Chanel woc. 

You will not believe it when I said we covered 10 houses (including ours) today. Went out early at 9-ish and done with 3 houses by noon. Possible because 3-4 houses within the same vicinity. Ended at our house for Jinjja chicken. What a change from rendang and friends. And with that, we’re done with my side. YaY!

Oh my! I was surprised that an old flame (haha takla) wished me early in the morning. Had such good memories and probably one of the sweetest guy I’ve ever known.

Syawal ready

I survived. Syawal eve.

This year planned a change of menu. 

However, nothing’s changed and in fact we received alot more than what we give.

Masha Allah.

New rug! Though the flower looks rather evil than cute.

Abg brought lemang. 

This never changed. Mom’s recipe.

Not a fan of lodeh but the son loves it. 

So tried cooking it. Color looks okay. Haha.

Alamak this one ar. Busy betul. I’ll take ayam with kunyit anytime. Kirim salam je lah dengan ayam berempah ni.

This year kuih! A table full. Probably half were homemade. Not by me though. Heh.

So thankful.

🥹 My Sentosa friend/ neighbour.

Year after year without fail.

She’s really so giving. Especially when it comes to food. 

Grateful for the new coat of paint. New blinds. 

May Allah always bless our home. 

I cannot do this anymore

7 freaking months later? Unbelievable.

The feelings seems familiar. It’s almost exactly back to 2009. In Ramadan too no less. The final week to Syawal. 

 

Probably the last post you gonna see.

So apt though. And I had to put on my PPG today.

Desperately needing endorphins and these ones costs almost $50. My heart breaks further. ❤️‍🩹

😭 Masha Allah. Super penat ehhhhhh. 

It’s been back to back appointments. How do people even have the energy to move hunt new houses?

It’s been:

- painting

- change of window films

- installation of blinds

- electrician

- delivery of sofa X2

- delivery of cupboard

And I had to wash the carpet twice! Thankfully, the sun’s out and it’s kinda crispy now. Glad that the curtains had been passed down. 

Amidst the busyness, I cleaned my Lego roses. Eh lego roses also can wilt ke? The baby breath broke. Cracked.

Also, managed to stock take my bags and overwhelmed with monogram designs. Banyak2 bags, I still cannot decide which one I would use on the 1st day.

Washed my specs holder probably for the 1st time. Gave him a good scrub but I have no confidence if he can be totally dry cos his head is gemok. Guess I should focus on the kitchen stuff now. Gonna settle the menu for Syawal.

4 months 17 days

 

Today was tiring. I mean I did jalan2 on CCA days but today was a different kind of tired. Went out after laundry and reached already noon. Not after we took the wrong bus so ended up at IMM first. Checked out the bookcase for a bit and cabbed over. 

Think he did enjoyed himself cos we spent almost 3 hrs exploring. Even had to go outdoor at the Eco Garden to complete his activities. Bernyamuk segala. 

And bro, apa ni? Tiba je pass form macam gini. Takde hello takde hi. Tahu la been raining past few days but no need to be so obviously cold towards me. 

Getting there

 It’s OVER! Finally all appts done and over with!

Alhamdulillah.

Though house not 100% ready. 

But then again, can nvr ever be totally ready eh. 

Cos suddenly remembered about the collection of curtains.  😪

Had to settle for Venetian cos wanted Roman but not easy to maintain and probably not lasting enough. Always have to choose between aesthetic and long lasting just as choosing between the heart and the brain. ehhhhh!

But happy that them lights are up tonight! Something we looked forward to every Ramadan. We bought these lampu lap tak lip back in 2017. ❤️

Berdamai

So much for trying to do the best but then trying to be mature about it all. And apa ni? Someone or some bots has been reading my old posts and I kinda laughed at my own language. Ranap. 

Anyways, I thought I had a dream about you. Why eh? Tapi kan I think I’ve forgotten how exactly you look like? Macam bermuka-muka lak. Eh. 

 

I guess this is the way things will be. Or we chose it to be. So is this berdamai dengan takdir? Sounds so chim. 

Gonna take it all in. If things have to be this way. And I’m not sure till when. This unspoken communication is so loud and clear. 

Finally the tv console’s cleared of toys. Not totally. And we’re left with the blinds before putting up the lap tak lip. And then we can do the final arrangement. 

Eh excited much. 

Wiggle wiggle

Just like that we’re 4 days away to the final 10 days of Ramadan. Tak nampak ye can khatam Quran in time for Syawal. Unless marathon read. Terawih resumed last night for me. Gotta up the pace.

 

Happy that I managed to complete my errands from mom and husb yesterday. It was fulfilling too because we made it to Wiggle Wiggle pop up. Everything so clarendon. ❤️

Damage done but okla under $100. Gotta pass sis the doormat and socks. Even got something for the boy. 

And that rainbow pen’s and balloon’s free. 

The paperbag so 😍 but costs me 2 bucks. 

My fit for yesterday. The skirt set was comfy only that I had a hard time buttoning myself up cos them buttons’ on the back. And the boy’s not helping. Feels the love cos my bday Pink Heart matches with the bday pink skirt set perfectly. 🩷

And two bus captains smiled at me. Either my kening was too straight or my baju looking like this everytime I went up the bus. Hmm sus.

Day 5/15

 I faltered earlier today. Then awareness kicked in and I removed again. Phew. Close call?

Come on lah. Please please just keep going.

Aaaaaaaip. Notty eh oyen. 

Supposed to be Day 7 of Abaya but since he was unwell for 2 days, so here’s Day 5 fit. Just going to repeat je lah. Threw a few away because they kinda worn out already. Eh eh and next week’s gonna be a break so woohooo. Less ironing. Heh.   

It’s been

 A week or so. How have I been coping?

It’s a battle eh between just letting things be or moving forward to ground zero. Sometimes hmm most times I’m almost swayed but gotta keep going. And being busy with appointments helps! To think we’re done with wip works, I’ve got another at least 3 delivery schedules. 

Bro took us for a drive around Geylang to see the lights cos cousin’s here. Probably the only time we gonna be there this Ramadan. 

Bulan puasa is all about sharing rezeki and me receiving many rezeki. Alhamdulillah. Always feeling blessed and grateful. Thought it’s a roti john but tasted waaaay better than one! ❤️

And this one came today too! 🥹

My jiran even came up the 2nd time to see me in my shorts - no LAH to pass me bubur. Yes the one yang tak berpuasa. So emo can? 

Beautiful distraction

Amidst the sadness, please bear with me with my emotional damage season, I’ve so much to be thankful for.

For being blessed with overflowing love.

Received safely all the way from Japan. 🥹 It takes so much effort and love to find the postcard and stamps and to send it over from there. What have I done to receive this much love? 😭

 

And this. She completed her Quran reading and shared this with me. We’ve been through the tests of time. Someone I’ve known for almost 2 decades. With Allah’s will, we’re still friends till this day.
