Khatam! 🤲

Alhamdulillah! Finally Khatam Quran today. And shamefully, it’s only my 2nd time.

The 1st time when I was still in school aeons ago. 😞

Couldn’t even finish reading it in Ramadan although I started early this year.

But syukur that I managed to complete.

So fulfilling to be able to complete the Quran.

Today the husband bought me Maggi Goreng Combo.

For buka. 2 days to go!

And he bought me this mini Hello Kitty cake few days ago. ❤️

Finally managed to deliver the girlfriend this tart.

Didn’t expect it to be so tiny (she sent us Earthquake from Swensens you know!) but hopefully she enjoyed every flavour.

2nd Syawal

It was still a kecoh 1st Syawal even though we didn’t step out of the house.

And I chose to don my ‘old’ Abaya despite having 2 new baju.

1stly cos of comfort and the fact that we looked better in matching colours.

We started early as usual but this year’s really special because we got to solat Raya together as a family. Alhamdulillah.

So we had light breakfast and then started our zoom/ video call marathon as early as 9.30 in the morning! From Bt Batok to Sengkang to Bt Panjang.

We managed to cover 13 houses. Virtually.

What an achievement!

Normally we would have to cover at least around 8 houses physically.

And Alhamdulillah too that we managed to finish almost all of our Raya dishes.

This cookie here, left only half a jar now! 😬

Day 1 of Puasa done. 4 more days to go can?

Oh Sayang Syawal Menjelma

I tried not to let it get to me. Probably looking forward to June to be able to meet the parents.

And I wasn’t feeling emo when we heard Takbir.

But teared when I watched the DK song.

A Circuit Breaker raya. Who would have known that an invisible virus could disrupt our daily life and routine? But I really believe that it all happened for the good reasons.

Syukur too for the endless rezeki.

SIL sent Rainbow Lapis! Been contemplating to buy but didn’t in the end.

And Mom did a bottle full of plain Rempenyek just for the kid.

And of course Makmur for the husband.

And sis got me this Almond cookies from ATD!

In the large glass jar no less!

And when the ex colleague turned neighbour sent you a feast despite CB.

Aha ex colleague from Sentosa days would easily be from more than 15 years ago!

I think I did not so bad for a Korean theme.

Thankful for a table full with Raya goodies.

Some bought and the rest gifts!

And I really love the bird cage and diffuser plant. 😍

Yay Alhamdulillah!

Done cooking 3 dishes for Syawal by 11.30am.

Started early at around 8.30am cos the husband went out early to buy ketupat.

Grateful that he managed to get some because he said there’s alr long queue.

Yay ketupat! 😍

1st dish done. Ayam masak kurma.

I didn’t put santan because I don’t like the pekat santan taste.

Next up super simple recipe from Mom.

Udang sambal. Just add tons of onion and it’d be yummyliciously sweet.

Almost 2kg and $50 worth of prawns in there. 🥰

Since the husband helped me grab ketupat, decided to cook kuah satay for him.

And then Mom already cooked for him too.

Lucky him! 

Oh now that the kitchen’s closed, ahuh. Still not ready for Syawal cos the house is in a mess! Will update later on this year’s deco! 🎈

Surprise surprise

Today was a little more tasks than usual. 

Can’t believe the husband’s going back to work soon.

So I did laundry and iron our Raya clothes.

Then came a msg from the girlfriend (since 2009).

A while later Abg Sado delivered this red box at the door.

EarthQuake from Swensens!

So thankful and grateful for this rezeki which comes unexpectedly.

I thought I had missed her kid’s birthday but turned out she bought it for Hari Raya.

So we had it for desserts after Buka. 

Aha 3 of us shared the 8 scoops. 😍

Will send her something probably next week after Raya.

Got this Tart delivered to the ex partner (since 2012).

She’s been to my place since 2014 and been coming annually for Raya without fail.

But due to CB Raya this year, guess she can’t self invite anymore. 🤣

So decided to send this to her instead.

Can’t wait to finish cooking for tomorrow and finalise deco! 🎉

Feeling of contentment

Yay finally almost 2 wks later I received my Sephora haul.

Been waiting anxiously for Ninja mat to come today and he came late noon.

Before this I alr bot the 1 for 1 Estee Lauder serum then came the 20%.

So took the chance to stock up on Face Mask and managed to buy Fresh and then stumbled upon Benefit set. I’m a sucker for pouches so these are easy ‘take my money’ deals for me. And that Sephora bubble mask is ex eh. $8 before the 20%.

Can’t wait to try!

Happy that I could balas the BFF’s satay treat by sending her this choc chip cookies from Hipsterbake. And it was a last min purchase but so prompt in delivery.

That complimentary pretty note card is a Bonus! ❤️

S U J I

The only kuih raya that I’d baked this year.

But already having 6 different cookies by now!

Alhamdulillah! And waiting for Mom’s makmur and tart.

Urm that wld be 8 and 1 more delivery tmr from Hipsterbake!

Seriously forgotten how tiring it was to bake. And mind you, this had to be the most simple kuih to make. No butter or fussy ingredients or methods.

Don’t even need to take out my bulky mixer.

Did a 1kg recipe and gotten more than 200pcs (3 bottles) of them suji.

The smell though. I swear my neighbour’s enjoying the aroma of this bake that they didn’t even bother to shut their door.

I’m so done with Raya preps that I don’t even want to bother gg to Kedai Tipah on the eve for ketupat. Shall just settle with Nasi Impit. 😬

And gonna cook 2 dishes only this time. 💪

5, 6 days to Syawal.

Not sure how things will be after CB.

Not sure if shd take the kid to school.

Can’t remember when was the last I pucker up with my Chanel lippie.

And spot my Cartier anni ring there.

Perhaps I shd change the design of the cloud tmr.

Aha and glad that I declutter my vanity tray.

Been thinking of making curry puffs from scratch.

So after today’s groceries delivery, decided to cook the fillings and roll the dough.

Well cld last us about 3 days of kuih. Settled.

Husband ordered Burger Ramly, Takoyaki, Churros and BBT for break fast.

The best friend msg early in the morn for a satay delivery.

Alhamdulillah. So thankful for the rezeki.

Ok so now is the rainy weather but still humid night, the Kdramas or the BBT that’s causing me my sleepless night. 😴

Mom’s CB 67th Bday

It occured to me that Mom had me when she was 30.

Ar then she always tells the kid next time no need to come here and so it came true.

She had to celebrate her birthday with just her fave daughter. 😝

Her cake from sis. Aha from All Things Delicious.

Sis got her the Orchids too. And I bought her the Bloombox quite last min.

Simple and pretty for only $35.

Probably the 1st time I got her proper flowers.

Besides that I sent her a Hari Raya hamper as well.

Just because last yr when sis bought us she wanted 1 as well.

Husband has bought for her supplements earlier.

Sis ordered Kenny Rogers for Bro and I. As mom’s bday treat.

What a feast! Alhamdulillah. Also the 1st time I had the SG version. 

Ain’t No Hood

Like MOTHERHOOD.

I have that gut feeling that there’s gonna be a delivery today.

True enough, an uncle came before noon.

Even the husband was surprised. 

The boys did this up in the morning.

All under 15mins. 🥰

So this was the surprise delivery!

From all things delicious again!

The kid’s fave aunt got it for us.

Flourless almond cake and it’s huge for the 3 of us.

And yay the husband blanja Hei Sushi finally.

Loves my Unagi and those sushi on the sides. 😍

Rezeki

Alhamdulillah. Arini abg blanja makan utk buka.

So here’s what we’ve got on the table.

Golden Pillow with mutton curry.

6 wings for the kid.

The husband ripping the bread into half.

In addition to that he bought us Briyani and Siew Mai.

So full. Alhamdulillah.

These are the food which we’ve ordered thus far.

Had that Pulut Kuning craving fixed.

Flavourful but compared to Zarina’s, hers more yummy yet more oily.

These especially with the sambal ikan bilis is the bomb.

Finally saw that the husband’s fave Satay Kulo avail for order.

Ordered all mutton and beef and chicken and we were given additional bento.

The son (who delivered to us) said not to call his mom.

He said rezeki kita.

Felt a little conscious but may Allah reward that Abg and his mom with multifolds of rezeki and barakah.

Missed Canadian Pizza and so husband said to order Cheeseburger and SG special.

Terubat rindu. 😋

Got my cookies from cousin! Yay.

Can’t believe that May’s here! 

And if everything’s back to new normal, the kid’s gotta go school in June.

And I’m beyond thankful for the husband’s help in getting groceries.

Think the last time I went out was end March. 😬

The kid’s been doing great in coping with HBL and staying in.

And yeap, a family activity.

Claying around and painting.

Here’s a cute all time fave epok-epok sardine.

Just when I almost completed the painting of my trinket tray, the husband took out a new set of cooler colours like bright pink and neon green!

Could have painted the tray in funkier colours! 

Finally got to display my favourite boxes all up and beaming.

Hmm think there’s still space for a brand new box or two! Heh.
